Budget ~£15k
2 adults, one 11 year old (girl)
One adult has reduced mobility due to illness- willing to use a hired wheelchair/scooter but understand some places aren't v. accessible. Other adult and child could do some more active things but it's nice to stick together.
We want to be away over Christmas as that's when the birthday is and would like something that feels special!
Open to anything but if there's a long flight involved will want to go business on at least one leg so understand that will eat some budget!

Look at Oman.

How about Australia? You’d have to sacrifice your business flight - would probably eat the entire £15k up but honestly it would be worth it! Such an amazing place with so much to see and do. Definitely something to suit everyone - it was the absolute holiday of a lifetime for us. A wonderfully inclusive country too, very accessible. We spent about £4k per person for 3 weeks in Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay, Noosa, Brisbane & finally the Whitsundays + Great Barrier Reef.

It would be useful to know where you've already been and enjoyed. Are you wanting to go away for one week, two weeks, more, less?

I would go to NYC and splash the cash. With that budget you could book amazing Christmassy experiences without spending the whole time in the crowds.

If it weren't for the mobility issues I'd recommend Costa Rica. Still worth looking into, with your budget you might be able to organise tours that will accommodate wheelchairs.

Otherwise, Mexico/Caribbean resort?

@Cappuccino5 I don't think I would manage the flight to Australia unfortunately! It does sound amazing though!
@owlexpress we were thinking probably a week to 10 days, we're not particularly adventurous holidayers but enjoyed Jade Mountain/Anse Chastanet in St Lucia for our honeymoon- really nice restaurants, on the beach, private chef for a night but adults only. Also went to St Lucia for my 30th with a toddler and it was nice enough but had become a bit more run down in those intervening years and I don't think we would fancy it again.
We enjoyed a disney cruise (surprisingly!) A couple of years ago from Southampton so one of my thoughts was a bahamas disney cruise plus a bit of Florida sun.

We like Spain, Portugal and the Canaries but would want guaranteed sunshine if somewhere like that and a heated pool for sure!

Maybe Mexico!
Thanks

Not the point of the thread but Anse Chastanet isn’t adult only. It’s over 6s, or over 10s depending on the time of year. There were loads of, mainly American, children when we went. Jade Mountain is however over 16s.

I think a cruise is a great idea, and depending where you go from in Florida you can do all sorts- Kennedy Space Center near Port Canaveral, The Keys if doing Miami etc. I suppose you could add on WDW/Universal if that appeals? WDW is very mobility friendly.

Oh really? I swear it was adults only in 2013 and don't think we saw any kids but we did really like it. But iirc you only had pools in the Jade Mountain section. I would consider it with the whole family though as the beach was great and easy to borrow kayaks/snorkels etc!
