Going to France on holiday this summer, partly staying with family. Haven’t travelled abroad for ages so worrying about the guidance! Do they ever really check if you’ve got an attestastion accuile form for staying with family, and enough spending money to last your trip?

No, just passports, here now. May change in October, think you will need to pre register, but not yet.

Probably.

No longer in the EU, innit.

I need an ETA - like an Esta - to come into the UK from the EU now.

There must be online info in English about this. Mind you, I don't think it's rolled out yet....

I've never heard of this being required in the ca. 20 times I've travelled to France!

If you're driving then you need certain things in the car, e.g. hi-vis vests and triangle, also a UK sticker.

And a GHIC card, for healthcare. If you apply for one before you leave you'll still be covered.

Are you thinking of ETIAS @suburberphobe ? That doesn’t come in til October I think.

I’m travelling from the UK to France this summer. I’ve got passports, hotel booking, the health insurance card thingy, an attestation accuile for the family visit, and spending money, and travel bookings. Have I forgotten anything?

edited: not driving! Eurostar.

For those going??? The attestation d'accuille is for those arriving on holiday in France who are not in the possession of a hotel or other holiday accomodatlon booking.

The service-publique website still carries info on the document so I unleee things have changed (and given a p p maybe it has) I suspect in theory the Border Police (PAF) can ask to see it but never actually heard of them doing so, certainly not at our local airports.

The spending money requirement would usually be covered by you having debit/credit cards in your possession, but again I never heard of it being checked.

Can't edit to add so - I see some sites now state that a valid Schengen Visa now cover the requirement, which may be the point @ACynicalDad is making
