Planning to visit Münich to visit my sister in October half term.
Is there enough to do with a small child for a week or is the city more for 3-4 days max? And what all can we explore (for now I have BMW world , train to Salzburg and/or Nuremberg, deer garden, Marien platz )
Thank you.

ps - posted in Holidays now because previously didn’t get any response.

We have a nice zoo, and the Deutsches Museum is fun for kids as well as adults. How about a train trip to the mountains, and a cable car? On a clear day the Zugspitze would be really exciting (it is expensive though, the Wankberg is more affordable). If it's a dull day, the Lichtspiele cinema usually has a kids film on in the afternoon and they have lots of showings in English. There is a toy museum in the Altes Rathaus; they have a big Barbie exhibition right now. I think you'll find lots to do but let me know if you need any more ideas. 😀

The science and technology museum has a dedicated area for children with interactive exhibits. Easily enough to do for a few hours.
The zoo is excellent and is definitely a full day out. The playgrounds there are excellent.
There’s an aquarium at the Olympic Park. It’s not huge compared to other Sealife Centres, but worth a visit nonetheless.
There are a few playgrounds in the English Garden, and if the weathers not too bad, watch surfers on the Eisbach River. There’s a beer garden in the middle of the park with a gigantic Chinese pagoda, a playground and a carousel.
Cosimawellenbad has a wave pool and a separate kid splash zone (and saunas!)
Munich is fairly close to Legoland and there’s a bus between Günzburg railway station and the park gates. Make sure that your train ticket has the destination Legoland Park or Legoland Feriendorf so the bus transfer is included in the price.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will look into cable car thing. Looks interesting.

DC has visited enough zoo/ London aquarium and been to cinema so not sure I will repeat those in Germany.
However toy museum and beer garden with playgrounds does sound good.
