How much spending money for Disney land Paris?

stitty · 27/07/2025 20:02

4 days in Disney land Paris, 2 adults and a one year old.

hoping to just do a big breakfast and dinner out and grab a snack for lunch. Bring baby a packed lunch and bring snacks/water bottle ourselves for him.

any recommendations on food there too?

we won’t be obscene in gift shops but will probably buy him a few bits there as going for his birthday.

Not wanting to piss on your parade but what are you going to do with him?

the character breakfast at Plaza Gardens was great and actually the best meal we had, also plenty for a one year old to engage with. Ratatouille and the princess lunch were dreadful, my husband who is generally calm left ratatouille and queues for McDs instead. We had two meals at our hotel - Sequoia - which were also good.

En Parc meals were overpriced queue for ages stodgy.

where are you staying?

are you going to stay on site the whole time?

You can look at the menus for the park restaurants online and it gives the prices , that way you can have a rough estimate of what you will need . We took both of ours to Disney as babies and there is plenty to keep them entertained .

It does depend where you are staying a bit, and also at 1 year old they just go where you go. I have been 15 times with 5 kids over a 5 year period (6 months to 14 years) I would say a) get him the cute "bits" in advance, either from vinted, or even disney store in UK, the DLP shops are horrendously expensive - think £20+ for a babygro to be dressed like Stitch. b) there is a restaurant park outside of the main entrance, it is still expensive, the disney hotels also so, but depends which one you are in, or if you are slightly further out by metro (in which case there are some reasonable places to eat (Val D'Europ is one stop on the metro, 5 minutes tops, big supermarket, plenty of restaurants (not cheap "per se", but at least different to Disneyland fayre) c) Breakfast at some Disney hotels is like a zoo. This does, however, give you opportunity (and yes, I know it is morally corrupt etc. ) to throw a few bread rolls in the bag in your pushchair and make a chip butty in the other theme park (the film one), it is cool (temperature wise) in there for young children, and has a McD type place. And before anyone does me down, there were families making full on packed lunches at breakfast, and wrapping them in tin foil, I admired their brio ! d) there are plenty of water fountains e) There used to be a 24 hour garage between DLP main hotels and the explorers resort / magic castle type area, it isn't great, but I think we went there once or twice for stuff - I am sure it used to sell booze also). Finally, if you are in a walkable DLP hotel, all good, if you are using the buses to the outer hotels in the circle. take the lightest fold up pushchair ever, because they are rammed if you travel at popular times, and everyone has children, so it becomes a bit of a survival of the fittest / pushiest ! f) get fast passes if you don't want to spend over an hour queuing for the most benign rides with a hot one year old. All that said, it is a great place to go, and there are a lot of peaceful places to be, even with very small children. hope you have a lovely time xx

Toad Hall is a good option if you’re on a budget. The kids meals are big enough for adults. Or you could share an a full-size dish for two.

We loved the themed food at PYM kitchen. Book ahead as it gets very busy.

Annette’s Diner is the only place (other than your hotel) you can use the Disney meal plan for breakfast. And it’s still great value even if you’ve not got the dining plan. The 1950s American diner theme is fun and the food was pretty good.

I'd reccommend making sure you do the hotel breakfast if you wanna go big, €35 ish and baby will eat free.
Plaza Gardens for dinner is great especially for dinner. When we went for DS first birthday in Feb, when the characters came around, we asked them all to sign a birthday card which I think is a really cool keepsake.

Spending money- allow €20-30 fir small gifts each.
They do croissants for €2 in main street. Might be the cable car bakery.
It's €8-10 for a coffee and a crepe/ other sweet treat.
We generally go and eat and drink as we please, I don't think it's that expensive tbh. Go to the starbucks in the train station instead of the village, its on the way in instead of having to go back on yourself and back out.
The mcdonalds in the village is always heaving.
Vapianos in the village is significantly less busy than most places.
Pizzafari does pizza but also does a butter chicken, rice, naan and a bhaji for €17
I believe the pizza meal is €10 which is pizza, salad, cheese or yoghurt, drink and dessert. It's generally not v busy inside (and can usually eat outside too!)

It's like everything else, as expensive as you make it.
Have the best time.

I'd say budget £1000 if you want to shop and eat freely, that's top end so you could do it for a lot less if you wanted to.

Ignore people who say your child isn't old enough. There's absolutely loads he/she can do. Tonnes of rides they can go on, parades, shows, character meets.

IDontDrinkTea · 28/07/2025 06:23

Have a look at the menus on the app as they have prices. For example, most of the buffet places are €50 per adult, €30 a child (under 3 free). There are cheaper places to eat, but it’s still expensive, I seem to remember paying €18 for a cheese pizza just because it was shaped like Mickey Mouse.

you can save money by bringing your own water bottles as you can refill them for free with the taps that are around the place. Whereas a bottle of Coke or whatever to drink is like €5 a time

Bear in mind that it is a completely closed system. There are no shops you can pop to for snacks or a bar of chocolate or a newspaper or anything like that. Everything is Disney except the McDonald’s which does a thriving trade.

If I was doing it again I would definitely bring snacks like individually wrapped chocolate croissants, some chocolate or cereal bars, some biscuits, and a few bags of Percy Pigs or similar, just because the queues for food can be long and my kids could get hangry very quickly. The days are full and busy, so make sure you pace yourself. There are early mornings and late nights and mine got quite tired and crabby by day 3. My DS, who was about 7 at the time in particular, had a nap for a few hours in the afternoon on a couple of days.

ilikeeggs · 28/07/2025 07:02

I’ve just come back for Disneyland and was there 3 nights and 2 days in the parks and spent around £650 though £100 of that was on the princess makeover:)
I took lots of cereal bars with us so we just had those for breakfast so we could be at the park for 8:30 and just ate then in the queues.

Belle Notte is good for kids as they do mickey shape pizzas or pasta with a salad, drink and ice cream for 10 euros.

Thanks all. Was just wondering if 1200 was enough to bring. We are getting the le shuttle so will pack plenty of snacks in with us. Staying in Santa fe so will be getting the shuttle into park (says it’s a few mins long). I’m aware we have a one year old and me and dad are planning to take it slow so probably won’t see everything etc. will try to travel into/out of park at off peak times, yes we have a light pram so he can nap when need too. Grandparents are also coming with us so will have plenty of helping hands. It seems under 3 eat free in lots of places so that’s really helpful!! Is there an app I can book a character breakfast in?

Yes, take a look on the app. But beware that many places will be fully booked. Those staying in a Disney hotel can book 12 months beforehand, so places book up quickly

tinyspiny · 28/07/2025 19:04

If you booked direct with Disney you should be able to phone up and add a character breakfast onto your booking .
