Center Parcs Europe / Landal etc

Hi, just after some advice please.

We are hoping to visit a center parcs type place in Belgium or the Netherlands during October half term.

Somebody suggested Landal to me, but a lot of reviews seem to suggest that they are better suited to toddlers, and some of the park shut activities at 4.30, including the swimming pool.

We are travelling with four kids age 17, 14, 12 and 8.

I like the idea of getting off at Calais and having to drive less than two hours, but none of the parks I've seen within this distance seem to have fantastic reviews.

The closest center parcs called De Haan seems to have dire reviews, and it's still quite expensive. It's only redeeming quality is that it's only a 1.5 hour drive 😂

Has anyone got any suggestions of any specific parks or any other companies to try please?

I understand it's difficult to please children of various ages, but we just don't want a park that's only really suited to very small children. My two kids (the older two) would be happy with at least a pool that's open till later in the evening.

There is 4 adults and the 4 children, and we are happy to have two lots of accommodation or share one big lodge.

If anyone has any specific recommendations that are again sort of within the 2-2.5 our drive from Calais I'd be most grateful 🙏🏼

If you're on facebook there's a group called 'Center Parcs Europe, just for Brits' which has some really good information on it. You may get better information then on here.

Take a look at Duinrell in Netherlands. A bit further to drive but worth it. Suits a wide age range with a great indoor pool/slides complex and a small theme park. We have done 4 October half terms there.

Thanks for your suggestion, is that a centre parcs or another company?

I think Duinrell is independent of both. I went with teenagers and they had a great time, there’s both a water park and an amusement park, although the latter wasn’t the most exciting , it was easily accessible and they could both go off together for a couple of hours. I think it has been upgraded since we went, it’s certainly worth a visit.

De Kempervennen or De Vossemeren were the best ones for older kids in my experience. Duinrell is also fab - you can walk cycle to the village and do a day trip to Amsterdam. De Haan is the summer is fine as it's close to the beach - but maybe that's not what you want in October.

Duinrell you can book with Eurocamp, but better to book direct.
