I really fancy a trip on my own later this year. Any recommendations for any UK based retreat places? Something easy going and relaxing; I enjoy painting and yoga, reading and general outdoors stuff. I've done a Google search but can only find a few for specific dates which are no good to me.

Anyone else escaped from the DH/DCs /stressful work for some quality time alone to just breathe? Would love some recommendations and suggestions.

Would you mind camping? We went to the Elan valley in Wales last year and it was fabulous. So quiet and peaceful. There are brilliant cycling and walking trails as well as rivers and reservoirs. We stayed at Elan Oaks campsite which has super luxurious facilities.

have a look at Middle Picadilly in Dorset. Nice little retreat but you can fit it around you.

I went on a brilliant book writing course in Wigtown Scotland. It was the first one but I think it went so well they'll repeat it. That will be specific dates though so maybe not idea.

I just go somewhere new, so I can explore, drink wine and swim. I've done Lincoln, Gran Canaria and Nepal as get away from it breaks. There's always something you can book up when you are there. Easier to base a trip around a location rather than an event ?

An area that I like for this is Rye. They have a lot of interesting places to visit,
and there are several companies focussed on wild swimming/yoga etc like this one https://www.newleaf-wellness.co.uk/events-1

Rye is full of artists and a lovely town to potter around, Camber sands is near, there are vineyards where you can book rooms.

Alternatively if you can drive or fly down to Cornwall/Newquay I would have a stay at The Scarlett, it’s amazing.
