Been many times! The kids loved it and although the activities are often extra the swimming and cycling (take or hire bikes) is brilliant. Have to say it was pre-mobile phones for them, so getting out and about was easier! Stock up beforehand on food but there is a shop for essentials.

I wasn’t a fan of the Longleat site.

it felt very overpriced compared to other locations. Staff weren’t very friendly. Our accommodation was tatty.

We did get a partial refund due to the experience though. This was 2024, they might have shaped up better for this year.

Although the pool is absolutely amazing there. Best of I’ve seen at any of the parcs.

Pool is amazing. Been twice. Definitely would go back. Definitely more hilly than Whinfell Forest for cycling.

We’ve been loads of times and love it.

We tried. Many years ago. My son was admitted to hospital. They wouldn’t refund even a part of the (fucking expensive) break so we had no holiday at all that year.
We did go to Bluestone and really liked it there.

We've been, accommodation was fine and pool etc. We found the site massive and hard to get around compared to Sherwood Forest so we are returning there instead of Longleat. Depends on what you prefer really.

Love Longleat CP! Haven't been for some while but it always wins on travel writing reviews as best U.K. CP site!

elliejjtiny · 02/07/2025 16:42

I've been but not since 1997 so it might have changed a bit! I loved it but we were about 30 minutes walk (or a shorter bike ride) from the plaza and i am not a big fan of walking. There is a shop for food etc onsite but it's expensive so better to bring stuff with you. The pancake house is amazing and so is the pool.

WallaceinAnderland · 02/07/2025 16:46

They get booked up in school holidays, have you checked availability?

It is the one centerparcs I haven't been to but we have just returned from another one and have been going for decades. Basically I think it is great especially if you like swimming which is free and either walking, also free, or riding bikes, and that costs. We went Monday to Friday, bike hire for an adult bike was £44 each and an electric bike was £66.

Activities vary cost wise. We play badminton, £15 for the court for 45 minutes, pickle ball is the same cost. Sadly unless you are within the booking window for the activities you cannot see prices. There is a £5 deposit per person for any restaurants booked which they take off the bill at the end.

The Parc Market is a Co-op and a bit more expensive than outside of the village.

Make the most of your stay. Get onsite for when it opens to guests on your first day which is 10am. Bike hire collection is from 11am and you can get straight into the swimming pool. The wristband is your villa key and the swimming pool locker key too. Enjoy the pool for a while, wave machine, rapids, slides, lots of videos on Youtube of people exploring the village and the pool which might be worth a watch. When you are done swimming come out and have some lunch or you can eat in the swimming paradise but we never do. We pay for early check in so we can access the villa from 2pm and that costs £60. Ouch. Bring the car from the car park to the villa, unload and return the car. Everyone else can access their villa later so you are not driving with all the cars if you get in for 2pm.

We love it. It is overpriced for what it is but the setting is beautiful, the forest is lovely, wildlife everywhere and we know what to expect and what we like doing. It is our relaxing holiday so we take things slow, bike ride, have lots of lovely family time together.

They have a land train which is great. We went first time when ds was a baby (long time ago) and it was great to be able to take him on it and used it on return visits.

I’ve been there 3 times, because my kids and wider family love it. The spa is brilliant. That’s it. The lodges are filthy, even if you call for it to be fixed and they reclean - take your own cleaning stuff.

The restaurants are all pretty poor too - definitely steer clear of Hucks and the Indian. Both chucked-in-the-oven, and less than mediocre.

the set up of the pool is great, and the cabanas are a nice addition, but on two out of three trips we found cockroaches (once running around, once a couple dead on a walkway).

Woburn on the other hand, was lovely. Activities are still overpriced, but it’s fun for kids.

Yes. Been to Sherwood and Longleat, I prefer Longleat.
