Have you done one and if so was it any good? Any tips?

We’ve done 2. They’re excellent, would thoroughly recommend.

Book early, ideally when new sailings are announced, as prices are like airlines, as more book, the price goes up.
Go with a travel agent, preferably one that specialises in Disney. They’re free, do all the work for you like give you timely reminders of dates that come up and many offer on board credits when you book through them.
My advice would be to try and get a room toward the middle and on a higher floor to ease up on feeling the motion of the ship. I did that for my first cruise (on the Disney Dream) and it was nice. Only felt the ship move on a stormy night where the sea was choppy. And while the standard room can be affordable, I recommend spending the extra to get a deluxe stateroom. It's just so much more comfortable and if you get a balcony, it makes for a nice big window and place to relax outside away from the hustle and bustle on the rest of the ship.
Check out the Facebook group associated with your sailing,
Arrive at the port/port city at least the day before your cruise
