Tired little legs

Hello. Does anyone have a good recommendation for something to help with a 5 year old to rest while we are on the go on holidays?

He is able to walk but we do plan on going on a few day trips which would involve too much walking for him . Dont mind a lightweight carrier or something to attach to a travel stroller. We will have a 2 year old in the stroller. Thanks

We have a 2 and 4 year old and usually take the travel pram and a back carrier.
I can't carry the 4 year old (I am weak and have a bad back lol) but if she gets tired she can go in the pram and the 2 year old either walks a bit or gets carried.
2 year old loves to walk but obv can't walk far. Usually enough to give 4 year old a break though, just have to persuade them to take turns!

Whereabouts will you be? A lot of beach-y resorts have beach side promenades which are perfect for scooters. Our DC had the mini micro scooters so we took the handle out of the base and then they’d fit in our suitcases (we had to put them on the diagonal). They made such a difference, particularly on warm holidays when they tire more easily.

Buggy board for the travel pram? You can get universal ones from Lascal - it’s not a complete solution as they are a bit faffy and not sure your 5 year old could spend the whole day on it but might be helpful to rest for a bit

I was thinking some sort of buggy board but I had a lascal one that was too heavy and clunky so not ideal for travelling. Anyone have a light one they can recommend?
Not keen on him on a scooter. He isn't very good with road safety yet so wouldn't be confident enough to let him use it near roads for another while...

double stroller?

We just did a holiday with a 5 and 9 year old and it was sooooo much walking (city breaks and Eurocamp). We took the scooters and it was brilliant. 5 year old scooted by herself most of the time but occasionally she would stand on the scooter and we would pull her to give her a break. 2 wheeler so it was a bit tricky but worth it for her to rest

We’ve taken our twins (now 6) abroad three times a year for the last few years - we now take scooters and it’s a game changer! But prior to that we’d take the bugaboo donkey and they were so comfy in it! Would two single pushchairs be an option? Or hire (from a local sling library) a carrier for the 2 year old - would that be an option? Have a great time.

Ok, I might rethink on the scooter. Seems to be the best choice! Thanks guys

With the scooter, where we’ve been in various resorts in Spain, Portugal, Greece and so on it’s been a wide promenade without any cars so very different to a pavement alongside a road in the UK. To be honest, it was our DC who were more likely to be the liability as there were elderly & infirm people who could have been injured if the DC had crashed into them. We kept them alongside us (rather than going ahead) and made sure they didn’t go too quickly and gave others plenty of space so all was well,
