If you’ve been to Bluestone would you recommend it? We have two toddlers.

Yes

Yes its brilliant! We have a 6 yr old DD, been every October for a long weekend since she was 3. Going again this October for our fourth trip. She loves the pool, the park, walking around the lake. The Serendome has a great water play area, sand play area and play park, as well as places to grab snacks/drink/fish & chips, and also a theatre (although not been to any of the shows). There is an indoor play area too in the Hive, with a bouncy castle/assault course style inflatable. Also Camp Smokey where you can go down for cookout-style food and toast marshmallows round the fire pit. (Although i think this may be closed for a while)

I would 100% recommend renting one of their golf buggies as its very hilly. I think they are £115 to hire for the weekend but they get booked up quickly so you need to add one to your booking. In the newer style lodges, the buggy is included in the price. Trust me you will struggle if you dont have one, even without toddlers! They are so much fun to drive around in though, your little ones will love it.

Anyway, we love it there and plan to continue having our annual autumnal weekend break there!

Yes, there’s so much for them to do onsite, and some great local day trips too.

Thank you! We were thinking of going in the winter months so good to know it is still fun then!

Bluestone is ideal for kids under 10. The pool isn't as good as CP but still decent. I'd agree on getting a buggy if you can, especially as you'll be there in winter. If you do go offsite both Manor Park and Folly Farm are great for kids.

Thank you! Debating whether to do a week or 4 nights

@Candleflower12it depends on how far you’ll be travelling to get there. We’re about 2 hours away and like a 4 night stay. If you’re there for 7 days you’ll definitely need to explore the area so it depends how keen you are to do that. I recommend you do a click and collect from a local(ish) supermarket - we use Tesco in Carmarthen given the direction we’re travelling from but other options are available.

Went about 10 years ago and had a great time. Very hilly which my DM struggled with but on balance much nicer than CPs

Check out @alexdodman on Instagram. His real review is spot on.

3 hours! So that’s why I’m deliberating the 7 night stay. Thank you for the click and collect tip

We did 7 nights during the Easter hols with our 6 year old, we didn't go off site, there was plenty to do. We did hire a golf buggy because it is quite hilly. Food was very expensive, so I would recommend doing some cooking in your lodge, we had breakfast in the lodge every day but if we had realised how expensive the food was, we would have made picnics to takeout with us for lunches.

We travelled 4 hours for just the long weekend with our 4 and 6 year olds. Loved it so much that we came home and booked the same again for next year. Well worth it. We didn't hire a buggy because we're all good on bikes and we have tow ropes. You could also pay extra to choose your lodge. Carn Menyn area (I think it was called) was an okay distance for biking/walking everywhere.
