I want to take my daughter abroad for a week in July. She has just finished her GCSEs we are looking to relax in a hotel anywhere hot. I want to go on a package holiday. Can anyone recommend a good hotel please. Somewhere close to a town, but our main objective is just to relax in a decent hotel.

Thankyou everyone.

What sort of budget?

Mcoco · 15/06/2025 22:33

I would say no more than £3000 for both of us.

The St George beach resort in Cyprus- assuming she is 16 and not a summer baby. It's over 16s only, safe, chilled and awesome all inclusive!

Mcoco · 16/06/2025 07:58

Yes she is 16. Sounds lovely I am going to look at that resort. Thank you. 😊

The Zafiro chain in Majorca/Menorca

minnienono · 16/06/2025 08:09

i found the TUI magic life brand good (they have multiple sites) I also swear by cruises for mother daughter trips, I took my dd when she finished her a levels and it was super relaxing, going for a wander around whatever town we arrived in overnight (we didn’t do organised trips) after breakfast then back onto the ship for a late lunch and relaxing by the pool until getting ready for a lovely dinner and live music each evening. We used marella (a TUI brand) which is all inclusive, the western med cruises include flights from uk regional airports

Try Iberostar Selection Anthelia on Canary Islands

Mcoco · 16/06/2025 12:05

Thank you I will look into that one too.

@Mcoco please beware Cyprus right now. Apparently you can see the rockets being launched in Israel which is only 300km away! lots of threads on here today about it

Are you looking at all inclusive? If so Gran Oasis in Tenerife & Barut B Suites in Turkey are really good. Very specious apartments

ConnieHeart · 17/06/2025 18:59

Otherwise Monte Dourado apartments in Algarve are great, self catering & near lots of restaurants & the beach

Untery · 17/06/2025 22:33

Following for ideas .

Yes I am looking at all inclusive. I was actually looking at holidays in Portugal last night as I have never been! Thank you I will look at appartments.

Can I ask you if you found it easy to book sun loungers on the beach. Also was it easy to find somewhere to eat in the evenings. I am used to being in a hotel but an appartment does appeal as it gives some flexibility.
Thank you.

We never used the sunloungers on the beach but there were plenty around the 5 pools! And yes, you're spoilt for choice for restaurants. The Chinese on the hill is really good & in general drinks are pretty cheap
