Anyone who has used them, would you recommend them?

Or are there any cheaper alternative which are just as good?

It’s for a family of 5, so I would be buying a few and l like the sound of them for space saving in the suitcase.

Thanks ☺️

They are lovely but I think the Decathlon towels are just as good and much cheaper.

They are good as towels and wash and dry well but I don’t like them to lie on a sun lounger, far too thin, I was really uncomfortable if the lounger doesn’t have any padding.

we have a hand towel from another shop, Blacks I think, I can’t see any difference apart from that Dock and Bay are cuter.

I'm not overkeen tbf.

Only real (and big, granted) advantages are that they take up so much less space, dry quickly and don't get sand embedded in them.

I don't find that they dry your body particularly well and are not in any way "cosy" for wrapping up after a dip in the pool.

Give me a big fluffy beach towel any day of the week and I will take less clothes! :) I find I use both on holiday; try to keep the beach one "sand free" which is perhaps the biggest contradiction I've made today!

And the kids feel the same too.

We have them because they save so much space, don’t get sandy and dry quickly. The trade off is that they don’t actually dry you very well. If it’s a hot country where you’ll dry in minutes in the sun on a lounger then I can personally live with that if it means not taking a checked bag on the plane. Took them glamping in the UK once though and twas a bit miserable because you want to get dry quickly when your shower cabin is unheated! If you’re not fussy on the design you can get bargains on Amazon- I have garish ones from
their kids range that are still XL so the same size as the adult ones but they cost half the price.

I used to use them but was never fond of the weird feeling on wet skin 😫

We've since switched to Turkish towels or Hamam towels. Very thin and light but 100 percent cotton. Dry quickly and feel so much nicer. Maybe check these out?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/06/2025 17:18

I got some for camping a few years ago. They don't dry you that well, and then don't dry out that well either. Maybe they'd be better in a hot country. I've found https://www.rinkit.com/products/170cm-x-90cm-turkish-cotton-bath-towel-by-nicola-spring?pos=1&sid=daee9cad1&_ss=r Hamman towels much better and much cheaper and fold up even smaller.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/06/2025 17:19

Hamman Towels better link

GoatGoatGoat · 09/06/2025 17:58

I love mine. It's massive but folds up small, drys very quickly and sand doesn't stick to it. Haven't tried any of the alternatives though.

Bjorkdidit · 09/06/2025 18:00

I didn't like them so sold them. Decathlon microfibre or Hamman towels much nicer, also lighter and dried quicker.

Sandysandyfeet · 09/06/2025 18:02

cotton Turkish towels are much nicer. We always take them now. They dry quickly are soft, not sweaty and you can use them as a sarong or scarf too.

yoshiblue · 09/06/2025 18:38

Definitely Decathlon microfibre towels

JulesJules · 09/06/2025 18:44

We always take Turkish Hamman towels on holiday too. Available in lots of colours, ours were from Amazon and very reasonably priced - I think they were on a 3 for 2 as well. Definitely worth trying them before shelling out for more expensive options.

Growlybear83 · 09/06/2025 18:47

I think they look lovely and are lightweight to pack but I don’t find they dry me very well at all. I much prefer a normal fluffy towel.
