Hello!

Have been looking at booking a holiday at Ribby Hall in the summer. Has anyone been?

I am just looking for recommendations from anyone who has been/lives nearby and might be able to suggest some things to do?
Kids are 7 and 4. We will do Blackpool for a day to see the sights and do all the touristy stuff I think, but would love some other ideas too please!

thank you x

Oh we love it.

No need to explore outside the park unless you're going for ages?

The zoo is attached to the park. It's pretty small so probably good for half a day.

You can book lots of activities in advance, but my kid loves the playground and pirate ship and swimming and wandering round the nature trail too. Always lots of free shows and things. Perfect for little kids, probably less exciting for older ones.

Clitheroe. See the castle, Holmes Mill etc.

Pendle Hill.

Whalley Abbey.

Malham Cove, Settle, Skipton all within driving distance.

Lytham and St Anne's.

Brockholes on the M6/A59 junction.

Samlesbury Hall

I've only been pre child but we loved the spa hotel and I always planned to go back to the main site with my daughter. The pool and playground look good and there were some nice children's entertainment things.

Clitheroe is one of my favourite places, and I can't remember whether Lytham or St Anne's is the one with the lifeboat station we looked round, and possibly a lighthouse too.

Try and book a beach but at St Annes for the day if it's lovely Weather.

Thank you so much for the suggestions!!

@LividVermiciousKnid do you need to pay extra for the activities? Xx

How long are you going for?
we spent several days not leaving the site much as there’s so much to do so you might not need to plan that many whole day trips.

Lytham is a nice little town centre to wander around, lots of places to eat.
St Annes has a wonderful beach, nice pier with penny arcade, beach huts you can rent for a day and lots of cafes etc
Blackpool zoo is worth a visit and Stanley Park close to it is nice
You can get the tram from Starr Gate (between Blackpool South and St Annes) all the way up the coast to Fleetwood
Blackpool has lots of attractions, Sea Life Centre, Gruffalo's Play House, Pleasure Beach etc
You can head out further to Ribble Valley but that is a bit more mature so I'd stick to the coast with children

There's a horse rescue centre really close by, we went last year and my girls loved it. Entry by donation if I recall correctly. Penny Lane farm or something very similar.

We stayed for a week, and to be honest, only went off site for a couple of days.
Once to blackpool to the Christmas markets and once into the town, Kirkham i think.

You could drive to the flower bowl which is just before Preston, so maybe a 30 min drive.
It's a big entertainment centre with mini golf, bowling, cinema, restaurants, chippy and more. En route to there you could also go to billy bobs. It's an American style diner with gorgous meals, desserts and ice creams. There's also a massive play hay barn and outdoor wooden play center.
I've been to both loads, and a 7 and 4 year old would love it, as would the family 🙂
