Best Cruise for teens

Hi all, i'm looking to see what peoples opinions are on the best cruises to take with teens. It's a big birthday coming up so we'd love to do a cruise, something we can share some experiences with our kids before they don't want to come on holiday with us anymore. Budget is not an issue as its a 'once in a lifetime' type thing but as there are 4 of us nothing thats going to break the bank! we've done a western med cruise with Tui and enjoyed it but would like to try another cruise company. any ideas are welcome. june/july/ august time, thanks

You want Royal Caribbean I’d say. Icon, Star or Legend next year.

With teens I'd look at Disney or RC, particularly RC. The activities are very much geared towards teens compared to say P&O who do have a teens club but the other activities aren't as good for that age group in my opinion.

We’ve done both P&O and Royal Caribbean with teenagers, teenagers preferred P&O for the kids club, but RC for entertainment. This was a few years ago. My adult DS (28) went on the new ARVIA ship last year, really loved it with the different eating areas and entertainment.

Disney or RC

is Disney not too babyish for teens? That’s a genuine question because I really fancy it but because ours are in their teens always dismissed it. I’d maybe hanker for RC though.

RC has a surf simulator on many of its ships which was a highlight for DS. He also enjoyed the water slides, video arcades, Aqua theatre and rock climbing walls. He didn’t go to the teens club, but it’s split into two age groups: 13-14 and 15-17 which I was impressed with.

In my opinion, no. Although it's Disney and that may be seen as more for younger children there's a big focus on it being a family friendly cruise so there's a lot for all ages to do.

For teens 100% Royal Carribean. Some people like MSC for teens as well, but my best friend said her kids hated MSC it was too busy everywhere, the food was rubbish and that the messaging was in 6 different languages and it drove them all nuts. Also unlike other cruise lines, passengers can embark and disembark at every cruise stop so there was always people around with cases etc....

Royal Caribbean. So much to do. You’ll never see the teens.

Yes just be prepared to barely see your kids and for them to be staying out till very late!! Goes without saying they should not be being nuisances to anyone else when roaming the ship.

Surprised no-one has said NCL.

I was on their Viva ship last year and the lads spent a lot of time either on the Racetrack, doing the sports stuff like Crazy Golf or in the VR Games room. Their water slides were good too.

I would have thought it also important to have good excursions some days like white water rafting etc.
