Holiday money....

What is the best way to take holiday money now?

I used to take a bit of english money and some local money as cash and then take travellers cheques.

But would I be better off taking some cash and then my debit and credit card? Or one of those travellers cheque cards?

I really don't know the best way to do it and would appreciate the opinions of any seasoned travellers out there!

I tend to take some cash then use my debit card for most other things.

Thanks cardy. But do most banks not now charge for making withdrawals abroad? It is my preference to do it the way you have said but I don't want to get stung with bank charges....

nationwide dont charge you for withdrawls abroad.

Most debit cards charge 5-6%, Nationwide don't.
Travelex.co.uk is meant to be cheapest supplier if you want cash, according to Observer or Guardian.

Where are you going?
I usually just take cash in the local currency, with CC as back up if we get stranded...

We're going to Corfu.

I suppose our spartment DOES have a safe in it so we could take mostly cash and keep it in the safe....
