Travel Insurance (Canada/Usa).

Looking for travel insurance recommendations (from the over 45s if possible for Canada/USA). I know they have expensive healthcare systems but I have been astounded at the online quotes so far. I have high blood pressure and am on HRT but other than that we’re pretty healthy and only just over 50. We are going for 3 weeks but the online prices are over £500 for 3 adults!!! Is that normal?

Have you checked taking out year long rather then a single trip policy?
Sometimes it can be cheaper.

Will definitely look at that as an option. Thanks.

I'm a fair bit older than you, with high (ish) cholesterol but not on any meds. My annual policy has just come in at about £150 (including the US & Canada). That's with Admiral.

Thanks @Cookerhood . I guess if that’s just for you then 3 people could be £450. I’ll try Admiral though as our car is insured with them.

I'm off to Canada in a few weeks. I got worldwide annual Admiral insurance policy for £130.

I have a few health conditions including high blood pressure.

Use Martin Lewis website.

Will do but think as we are more than 12 months before travel it wouldn’t let me. I tried a few which had that restriction.

We’re late 50s with an assortment of minor medical conditions and our annual worldwide insurance with Goodtogo is £320 for both of us. This was a good price at the time and includes gadget cover.

Thanks everyone

I’ve just bought ours (for Canada) for three adults, for £280, from Holiday Extras.
