Do last minute holidays still exist?

We would like to go away for half term week, probably for 5 nights somewhere in Europe. Would like to fly and flop so to speak - kids entertained with pool and beach etc so that husband and I can can enjoy some R&R (read books on sun loungers).

Are last minute deals still a thing? Or do prices increase as you get closer to your desired date? We are happy to hold our nerve until the end of next week in terms of booking and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for great last minute deals websites?

I don't think they do? Although it might be worth just bobbing in the travel agent to check.

Not sure if they’re a thing any longer, though half term deals are rare for obvious reasons. Always found ‘on the beach’ quite good.

You will almost certainly find something but it depends on what's available as to how much you'll pay.

You could put your criteria, being as flexible as possible, in the package website deal searches, and see what comes up, and whether you think its worth the price.

I have seen reports that the anti tourist protests have put people off booking, which might work in your favour if it means bookings are down.

Of course there will always be something and I do still see cheap breaks on Holiday Pirates, what I’ve found though as I’ve gotten older is that I am a lot fussier now in what I enjoy, and the thing with last minute holidays is it’s just what is left over, which may not be great in peak season. The hotel I love for an AI holiday is inevitably always booked up months in advance of peak periods.

Depends how fussy you are, nothing to hurt looking as it’s already last minute. If you’re planning ahead for next year (eg do I book now or do last minute) I’d always recommend in advance. Most holidays I’ve booked only get more expensive, not less.
