Me and partner thinking of booking a holiday in September when my baby will be 1 year and 3 months. Has anyone done this? Looking for advice from anyone who’s done this?

Will I be extremely stressed out or is this a good idea

It completely depends on where you go, the type of place you stay, the activities you do, how you get there, and what type of parent you are.
If you choose somewhere with short haul flights, not too hot, easy transfers, a hotel which provides baby food and childcare, you intend to take it easy on the beach and by the pool, don’t care how other parents perceive your parenting, and are quite relaxed about routine, then you’re likely going to have a very restful holiday. Especially as you’ve got a two adult to one child ratio!

We went to France, Italy and Spain when dd was between 6 months and 18 months. I preferred self-catering to hotels with a separate living room and balcony and terrace. Gentle sloping beaches / nice swimming pool. We used to alternate a lounging day with a trip out somewhere and took it in turns to do paddling / sand castle building whilst the other chilled. Nice lunch then she would either nap in the pushchair or we'd go back to apartment and have a siesta. Used to get her bathed, fed and in PJ's in the evening and then go out for a stroll. Normally fine to stop for a drink or 2, sometimes dinner if she was asleep / in a good mood. Otherwise we would grab a pizza or cook something after putting her to bed. Happy days.

Took DD1 to Menorca aged 18 months. Ideal location as the beach was incredibly safe, and the people are very child-friendly.
The biggest problem we had is she’s not the best sleeper so definitely not one we could get to sleep in the pushchair while we went out in the evening. We were in a hotel and the dinner buffet didn’t start till 7pm so we were always rushing to all eat quickly then get her back to the room to bed. Other than that it was great.
Like PP said, it’s worth doing it when you have a 2 adult to 1 child ratio. We’ve just done first holiday with 2:2, which is a different ball game!

What do you fancy doing? So long as you self-cater, it will be fine.
