We're thinking to go next summer.
Day 1 travel via car from the South West. Cheap and cheerful hotel somewhere near Paris.
Day 2, have a nosey around Paris.
Day 3 up and out early to spend a day in the park, stay at Davey Crocket (I've chosen this specifically as we can't tolerate being 4 in a hotel room, we'd all go mad)
Day 4, in the park
Day 5, in the park then travel straight on afterwards to La Croix Du Vieix Don't
5 or 6 days in the holiday park
Travel home on one day on the final day.

DC will be 9 and 6, DH loves driving and very capable of driving on the other side of the road etc.

Does that sound ok?

I think that sounds fine. We did 3 nights in a Disney hotel and 4 days in the park as we didn’t want to be rushed and knew our kids would need a bit of down time factored in and that worked out well for us, but I think 3 days in the parks is fine. Wouldn’t want to have any less though.

actually we did it the other way around, had a week in centerparcs and then did Disney. Meant we were well rested for Disney instead of lots of travelling and straight in to it. But we were at the one right beside Disney so were able to do a day trip to Paris one of the days we stayed at centerparcs without needing another change of accommodation .

@confusedlots thanks so much. I did consider doing it the other way around, but I fear dc wouldn't enjoy the holiday park so much as they'd just be waiting for Disney if that makes sense. Plus I think the adults will be glad of the semi rest after DLP!

We're going as the first stop on our French driving holiday this year, usually do it towards the end and this will be our 6th visit.

Our itinerary looks a lot like yours for this year but dropping central Paris to tag Lyon on for a few days on our way back up from Sète.

We usually do 2 nights and 3 days too, getting to the Disney hotel to check by about 7am from whatever motel we've stayed at nearby, to collect tickets and get into the park and try make the most of the early access all 3 days.

Mine are teens now so handle the long days better than me but when they were little (youngest 2.5 first time we went) we'd try get at least 1 afternoon nap in the middle so they could cope with staying up for the fireworks.

I'm already counting down to July, hope you have a fab time.

@endoflevelbaddy thanks for the reply. Do you stay in a holiday park type thing as well? Which one do you recommend? I'm really not sure how easy the logistics will be of staying in so many places with young dc

We're doing DLP this summer.

We're having some time in Belgium and Netherlands, then driving to stay in Arras on the Wed night. We wake up, drive to DLP, hopefully there for 10am. Check into Davy Crockett. Staying Thurs and Fri night, will have Thurs, Fri and Sat days in park. Drive to LCDVP on Saturday evening for five nights before flying home.

Bluebluetuesday · 14/05/2025 20:02

@YouBelongWithMe that's so similar, have you done it before? Did it go well?

We've done DLP before, once as part of a bigger road trip and twice as the solo focus.

The kids were actual little kids then though. This time we're going for the nostalgia with an 18, 16 and 14 yr old!

If you stay at a Disney hotel, you’ll get the day before and after the night at Disney. So saturday at Disney, Saturday night at Davy Crockett, Sunday at Disney or equivalent. We’re staying nearby the night before our first disney day.

We have done a lot of eurocamp style holidays with them though. Lots of changing campsites and moving around. They loved the adventure of it all!

endoflevelbaddy · 14/05/2025 21:41

@Bluebluetuesday yes we've stayed at various sites and do tend to move around.

One year we stayed on a site at Lac de Chalain, then Troyes for a few days, then DLP, and finally a few days in Le Touquet at the Novotel on the beach (haven't been for a few years but really rated this hotel) before heading home.

More often we're down the west coast. One site we really enjoyed was Camping La Pinède in Les Mathes. We combined that with a couple of night in Nantes on the way down, after ferrying to Cherboirg or Caen, then stayed on outskirts of Paris for a few days somewhere with parking and easy train station access to get into central Paris, but easy access to DLP for the last few days.

Also heard great things about Les Villages Nature if you don't want to travel that far beyond Paris but not actually been yet.

I use the laundry facilities on the sites and try to pack so we only need to get one case out at each of the stops (except the week in the camp site) to make it easier changing location. It sometimes feels like a lot of faffing about but we do always have a great time and I like mixing a bit of pool / beach, city and theme park breaks all in the same holiday.
