Swim supplies for toddlers?

We’re going away in a couple of weeks with our 18 month old. This is the first holiday they will be mobile and wanted to get some recommendations on swimming apparatus?

Last time we went she was a baby and we had her in a pool float inflatable - is this still useful?

the hotel has a splash park and pool, do we need to get armbands / a swim jacket thing or actually, are they not needed because we will always be with her?

thanks!

We use a sun suit for our DD, as it saves having to put suncream all over. We get it in a size bigger as the legs and arms are usually too short. At 18m she used a swim vest for fun swim sessions (during swimming lessons she had no float aids and I always held her). But it's nice for the dcs just to be able to kick and propel themselves freely. We didn't use a float seat at that age. It's nice to bring some floating toys, watering cans, ducks etc to chase.

Yes to a swim vest - research the size you need and buy one from Vinted and save the planet some plastic. And yes to toys - a little watering can is fun.

At this age I wouldn’t bother with water wings

Also don’t forget crocs or similar to wear at the poolside that can go in the water in case the ground gets very hot or slippy

I used a vest at this age.
I was always with him but he liked ‘swimming’ or floating in it between dh and I.

Thank you! Swim vest sounds like a good idea then. She’ll definitely want to be mobile and getting involved
