Solo Holiday in the Caribbean

I am looking at going on holiday by myself for the first time in Sept. Stolentime in St Lucia has been recommended because in Sept they have a solo programme for singles.

I was also offered a really good deal in Grenada at the Royalton.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheeky bump for anyone who can offer their experiences of Stolentime St Lucia?

I stayed at the sister hotel for Stolen Time - Body holiday in March. Highly recommend. I haven't been to stolen time, but body holiday is perfectly set up for solo travellers, couples and adult families alike. They have dedicated rooms for solos with no single supplement, and have hosted solo tables at dinner and it's easy to get chatting to people at the inclusive classes. I went solo and enjoyed my own company and also enjoyed chatting to fellow guests when I felt like it. I think stolen time has always been couple orientated until recently, whereas body holiday has been popular with solos for years. Daily spa treatment includes in BH all inclusive rate. Sept is also their solo focused month, but honestly solos go there anytime.

Thank you so much for responding Happyflower12345 BH sounds amazing.

How was the transfer from the airport to the resort? I'm a little anxious about the journey (travel sickness) as I hear its 50 min taxi ride has lots of windy roads.

Was the food good?

The solo tables sound really great and I believe there are lots of solo activities so I can dip in and out as I please.

Did you tip as you went along or was there a tipping box at the end?

Thanks for replying 😊

Re transfers - I booked a private taxi return and it was approx 1 hour and a half each way. I booked the more expensive higher end vehicles as I can get travel sickness and took anti sickness medication and was fine.
Re tipping, they prefer that you don't tip individually - there's a box in reception where you can tip at the end of the stay and it gets divided out to all staff.
I enjoyed the food - I have dietary requirements and felt really well catered for. It's not a massive resort but there are 5 restaurants/cafés and all great.
You can do as much or as little as you want - there's activities and classes from 7am - 6pm everyday or you could sit on sun loungers all day - no pressure from anyone.
I really enjoyed it, I'm booked to go back again next year!

Great idea about taking anti sickness medication and thanks for the tipping tips 😊

Thank you for this thread as a solo traveller who is hoping to go more exotic!

Your welcome. I'm excited and nervous but I really want to see the world and not live in fear/anxiety. I hear Stolentimes and Body Holiday in St Lucia are really good for solo holidays.

I tend to get really anxious and overthink about the logistics of travelling solo so hearing other people's experience is so important and appreciated

@GratitudeGoddess I've not been to that resort, but you'll love St Lucia. You can escape and be away from people or socialise. Hope you find whatever it is you're looking for there, even if that's just some peace and quiet! :)
