Cheapest website for holidays abroad

I would really like a week's holiday somewhere warm, but not too hot, probably low to mid twenties.

Are there any cheap offers around? Probably looking at June. Hotel doesn't need to be amazing, just clean and a comfy bed, preferably a balcony. Doesn't need to be all inclusive either. An outdoor pool would be nice and near cafes and maybe near the beach.

I've looked on so many websites, my mind is blown!!

Links would be great 😊Flowers

It would probably be cheapest to book separately where you can get a Ryanair flight and an apartment or small B&B on booking.com in or around a coastal city like Malaga, Alicante or Valencia and just get to the accommodation on public transport. If you can travel midweek the flights would probably be cheaper. Eating out at lunchtime then getting a takeaway or easy supermarket food to have with wine on the balcony would probably work quite well, mainland Spain or Canaries is likely slightly cheaper for eating out than Balearics.

But you'd need to plan well and be a fairly confident traveller to do that.

You could see what's on offer by putting your dates into the late deals section of jet2holidays, or the Tui or Easyjet equivalents.

We're going on a jet2 package in June to Mallorca and it's costing £1150 for 5 nights B&B for 2.

We could have cut the price down by £2-300 by booking separately, reducing luggage allowance, being flexible with dates, going to a different resort, having different flight times and a few other tweaks but we picked what works for us.

I don't think I can do it that way. I'll get something wrong. I've looked at last minute deals but they're still quite expensive.

Budget? Airport? One week?

Kneeslikethese · 10/05/2025 22:32

We just got back from a great deal with last minute.com got hotel + flights through them.

Loveholidays has always been good for price when I’ve used it. Good filters.

The website isn't going to make all that much difference because 95% of the cost of the holiday is the air fare, the hotel, and the transfer. There are sites that specialise in buying up rooms that have been cancelled or whatever, but then you get less flexibility.

The real difference is in which country you go to. Somewhere like Bulgaria or Albania is going to be a lot cheaper than Ibiza.

What's your definition of expensive and how much are you hoping to spend?

If you're expecting a week in the sun Teletext Holidays style for £199 it's not possible.

But all you need is a flight to a particular location, accommodation near where the flight goes for the right dates and a way of getting there, which can often be a normal bus or train from outside the airport to near to your accommodation, which if you pick somewhere in a coastal town, is likely to be available, in Spain or Malta at least. Plus you need to think about how you're getting to the airport in

What is it you're worried about?

Love holidays is very cheap. It’s usually a Ryanair flight and you can choose how much luggage to take. We have found self catering for around £400 pp or AI for £600pp for spain or Bulgaria in peak months. Would be significantly cheaper out of season.

Love holidays or on the beach. I’ve used them both multiple times and they’ve been fine and so so much cheaper the jet2 (who seem to be crazy expensive from our local airport) or tui. That said tui do often have some decent last minute deals but you need to keep looking all the time and book quickly if you see something good as they go fast.
