Eurocamp Hu Norcenni Girasole, Tuscany

Hi all! First time poster here. We have booked Norcenni Girasole with Eurocamp in July, but now I am panicking about reviews saying the campsite is really steep! I will be with a 4 and a 2 year old. Has anyone been before and can recommend if the campsite is buggy friendly, or are there lots of steps? Are roads paved or is it bumpy dirt-track style? Should I invest in a double buggy so 4y/o can also sit in it when she is too hot to walk, or would a double buggy be unmanageable? Travelling to the campsite by train from Florence if anyone has done that before with a buggy too. Thanks so much for any advice!

I don't have any advice but following as we have also booked for July. My kids are older though (10 and 7). I did read that there is a train that goes round the park due to size and steepness but not sure how easy it is to access.

It is really steep, but it's set out on two layers, iyswim. There's the lower part with restaurants shop and a couple of pools, and another pool complex and restaurant at the top level. There's a small road train that goes between them.

It was fine when I went with three small children. I've been on campsites that were steeper.

The only problem I had was arriving by train (which is easy, trains are great in Italy), was that the promised minibus wasn't there on arrival. And without a car, you are reliant on thqt shuttle minibus or taxis, it's not possible to walk from the campsite to the the town.

@ArminTamzerian Thanks so much for your reply - that's really reassuring to know you did it with three little ones! Is it stairs between the layers or is it a hill I could push a pram on? Do you remember how long a walk (in distance or minutes!) it is between the two areas? I saw about the mini train when booking so didn't think twice about the size of the site, but as I've looked up reviews a lot of them said the train was full and they could be waiting up to an hour to use it, which is why I wondered if I should get a double buggy so we don't have to wait around for it.

Yes I am a little nervous about getting the shuttle from the town to the site - how did you get in contact with the site about this? Or did you just get a taxi in the end?

Sorry for all the questions - I have anxiety so this trip feels so daunting to me, even though I am really excited too!

As previous poster says it is steep but well set out so it wasn’t an issue for us. I’m jealous- it’s a wonderful place!

It's probably ten years since I was there, and it wasn't full season, I'd say we were there in June? It wasn't too busy and the train was usually available. But I did use a pram as well, it was all sloped not stairs, and mostly paved so the pram was fine.

If I recall correctly we called the site and they sent the shuttle after a bit of a wait. We used it also for food shopping, and to get to the station for a day trip to Florence, but other than that we stayed in site. There's lots to do and the food was excellent.y kids loved it.

We had a lovely time there about 10 years ago maybe. The roads are paved and it is more steep paths than steps. We went in the school summer holidays with 4 kids and it was very very hot. Air-conditioning in the caravan was a godsend. The only thing I can remember is there is no outdoor space to sit around the accommodation. The pools were very nice. The top one is more for littler kids and was lined with a nice smooth soft neoprene lining. We weren't on the site that much as we hired a car and visited Florence, lucca, vinci etc
