Feeding 7 mo on holiday

We are off to barcelona/sitges next week and I am a bit anxious about what to feed fussy ds. He is bf and reluctantly has solids 3 times a day (having an off week!). He eats pureed fruit and veg, porridge, etc and I have started him on bits of finger food.
We are staying in hotels (maybe not the wisest choice in retrospect) so what on earth can I feed him? Just take jars and packets?

I'm off to spain in a couple of weeks when ds will be 7 months. I bottle feed (wish I had kept up the bf now, much easier!) and plan to give him mushed up veg and fruit from the hotel restaurant. I'm going to take a packet of baby porridge as well. maybe some organic fruit purees, I figure it won't matter if he has a bit of ready made baby food for a couple of weeks.

Does he only eat purees? or will he take a banana? I'm taking rusks as well although I know some people don't like giving their baby rusks. You could also give him a bit of toast at breakfast.

hth I'll be interested to see what other people advise as I've been wondering about this myself.

We didn't stay in a hotel but there should be a plug socket in your room. Can you take a hand blender? We did and cooked stuff. Maybe you could take a container and put veg from the hotel in it, blend it in your room iyswim. We also took packets as they taste better than jars. The other option is just to mash it well with a fork because at 7mths he should be ok with some lumps iyswim.
Order stuff thats mashable? Jacket potatoes were good. Should be ok if you take a plastic bowl to cut things up for him to feed himself like bread/fruit/veg etc. The food over in Spain is usually quite 'normal'.

I had the Beaba Babycook when ds3 was a baby and brought it away with us several times. It steams and blends and reheats if necessary. I found it a Godsend.

Thanks, I guess I could invest in a travel steamer but he will probably be eating what we eat next time I go away!
He had toast and banana tonight so I will try out a few more travel friendly foods this week.
Has anyone bf'ed in public in Spain?

Should be no problem bfing in public in Spain AFAIK, I did in the Canaries with no problems.

Powders and jars are useful, banana and avocado too. I really liked the Plum Baby jars at that age, but lots of jars can make your packing a bit heavy and it is tricky at airports these days. You should be fine in Spain, we went when DS 7 months and had no problems bf or feeding generally, only thing is Spanish people eat quite late so you need to research a bit which restaurants are open early eve if you plan to take baby with you!

Oh yes Avocados are good and you should be able to get lovely ones in Spain, at least we did in Portugal,
