Hi all, my husband and I have yet to take our DD on a proper holiday, we want to go away this year but we don’t want to fly. Any suggestions? We’re looking for anything from 3-7 days, we’re pretty flexible with the type of holiday just want somewhere nice and clean to stay and a few bits for DD to do.

TIA ☺️

Depending on where you are in the country, I’d recommend considering CentreParcs in Belgium - De Haan. It’s only about 1hr15 from Calais. Cheaper than CentreParcs in UK. Great swimming pools, including toddler pool. Big softplay. Little animal farm and loads of play areas. It’s on the coast so lots of beaches, and also lots of cycle paths if she’ll sit in a child seat could be fun.

If wanting to say in the UK, Cornwall is great as PP says. There are also websites for finding family friendly holiday homes, e.g. ‘baby friendly bolt holes’ but my recollection is that they were quite expensive!

It gets slated on here and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I don't think you can go wrong with Butlins.
We used to do monday-friday term time breaks which were great value. We went for the highest accomodation we could afford and the meal plans.
So much is included in the price including playgrounds (the new skypark is fab), Justin Fletcher/Mister Maker/Peppa Pig shows, pantomimes, arcades, puppet shows, fun fair, swimming pool.
At Minehead, you cross the road and you're on the beach, which is lovely and beautifully clean.

You can get to the south of France by train. Eurostar to Paris, TGV to Marseille, then a local train east.

We’ve been to Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mere as a family, which was lovely.
