Easiest beach/pool holidays with 9 months old - resort and or location recommendations

Would love some sun, but I don’t feel overly confident about holidaying with baby and the logistics involved…like how to get from airport to our location (would usually jump in a taxi but we won’t have a car seat with us, or I’d make my way with buses but not sure about doing this with baby in tow), how to prep food (should I choose an apartment rather than a hotel so I can cook?)….Basically all these things which I didn’t spend a thought on before having a baby. If you went anywhere nice and sunny which was easily manageable with baby, I’d love to hear recommendations

Not a direct recommendation, but regarding transfers either book a private transfer and request a baby seat, or take the coach if included and baby sits on your lap. Public transport would be fine with baby in a sling or travel buggy.

I would then look at resorts which aren't too far from the arrival airport.

Regarding food, I suppose it depends how much and what your baby eats at 9 months. Milk will still be the primary source of nutrition, so either you want to have more work and stay self catering, or do all inclusive or whatever and just give baby bits from the buffet. Fruit, bread, rice, pasta, meat, yogurt.... I mean they can nibble on mostly anything.

Why not check TUI for family friendly hotels and then cross reference with distance from the airport. These hotels will be more likely to have loads of baby stuff available like high chairs, cots, even baby food if you prefer.

Royal Son Bou in Menorca was the easiest holiday we ever had with dc that age. We requested a child seat with our private transfer. Puree was available but we didn’t use it as I did BLW and could find enough for my dc to eat at the buffet.

Holidayed in Spain (Balearics/mainland) years ago from when son six months old onwards. It was great as they (added daughter couple years later) were welcomed everywhere. Food not a problem as baby food available and/or buffet food could always find something for them. We always took a little travel kettle and bought bottled water - that's what everyone did back then! Go for it 🤗

since having a baby we've gone on holiday with a set of grandparents and gone for a villa setting over a hotel. more room for baby, own kitchen to cook, own washing facilities if needed. no trekking back up to hotel room if need something or want baby to nap there. in terms of transfers we hire a car and then you can also hire a car seat. we went to greece when DS was 6 months old and about to go to Menorca at 18 months old.

Thanks these are great suggestions! I didn't even think about buffet food options, that might sound doable and saves a lot of cooking.

We took DS to Benalmadena when he was 7.5m. Huge long promenade that was perfect for walking on with a pram. Breakfast buffet was great for him and I would take a banana and bread roll for him for later. Rest of the time he ate off our plates or had a pouch I had bought in the supermarket (this was a while ago!).

Private transfer took 15 min from Malaga airport and we booked a car seat.

Taurito Gran Canaria- lago or Valle hotels. If you go jet 2 the on site waterpark is included. Both have own hotels. There are shops there, beach is lovely with bars- sunset Taurito is amazing

Waterpark is literally a few steps away and beach about a three min walk.

No advice on where to stay except to echo PP's that AI is easier for food with a little one.

I wanted to recommend that you take a travel cot with you. The cots in hotels abroad aren't always the best, so having your own is ideal.

Also, the travel cot can be brought poolside and placed between loungers under an umbrella so that baby can nap there safely and stops you having to go to your room for naps.
Also, we would take out the padded mat on the base of the cot, pop a folded towel or two in it's place and buy a little blow up boat, put some pool water in it and some floaty toys so that baby can happily play and splash about right next to us on our sunbeds.

Doing that meant that baby didn't always have to be either in our arms or in his buggy, so it gave us tons more 'freedom' while keeping him safe and being able to play with him.

You can take a car seat with you on a plane for free, even if you don't pay for checked baggage. Just take it to the gate and they will put it in the hold for you.

Alternatively, within the EU, taxis are required to provide car seats. At Palma (Majorca) airport for example the taxi rank has a huge cupboard with all kinds of sizes, and then when you go back to the airport the local taxi company will bring the seat for the age you specify when booking.
