family with teens.

I have been to Greece a few times pre kids but to party places.

Rhodes,Crete and Corfu seem good?

Any and all depending on what you and your family are looking for.
What criteria?

MAFSQueen · 01/05/2025 09:49

Not somewhere too remote, near a beach for swimming, snorkelling,boat trips. A nice town to wander.
Not a place full of drunk young Brits (which I did when I was 18!)

Our teens are older so we now require two rooms so that makes things a bit pricey.

Might not hire a car hence not wanting to be too remote.

I love Rhodes. There are fabulous beaches, nice towns, history, good restaurants and it’s a beautiful island.

Chania is nice. And you can get buses to the beaches.

It's in Crete (forgot to add that).

Pefkos in Rhodes is very family friendly, we’ve been before with a 10 month old

Kefalonia.

We went to Crete with our teenagers last year, we had a villa up in the hills so hired a car, it was good for sightseeing but tiring doing so much driving. There's lots to do but things are quite spaced out although it's possible to get round using buses. We liked all the ancient history and the links to the Greek myths (the kids are Percy Jackson fans).

We are off to kefalonia this year with our 18 and 16 year old. It’s a relaxing beach and eat holiday. The 18 year old is going with his friends to Spain in June for his drinking holiday. All the Greek islands are amazing. Skiathos was great.

@mrsnjw Thanks.

Do you normally self cater?

we have done all inclusive in the past and last holiday we stayed in a hotel and just had breakfast there. Spent a fortune on eating out (Ibiza)

Yes we usually opt for bed and breakfast as we find kids eat loads in the morning! Love going out to different restaurants now in the evening. They are a bit too old for all inclusive now and beer is relatively cheap to buy with food. Too many toddlers at all inclusive and I love being served my food in a restaurant. Yes it’s expensive but we budget for it.

Kassiopi in Corfu is lovely. Nice little town set around a square and a harbour, great food and definitely not Brit abroad. Lovely buzzy atmosphere and loads of places nearby to visit.

showmethegin · 01/05/2025 14:00

If you do look at kassiopi the Solaris apartments have two bedroom units

Another vote for North Corfu, we have been going to Avalaki near Kassiopi for 12 years. We rent a boat and cove hop all day visiting different tavernas for lunch and then back to the beach or villa in the late afternoon. Usually eat in Kassiopi in the evening, and the kids can have a skulk around safely. It’s a lovely chilled holiday with beautiful food, def no Brit abroad vibes. Can recommend the lace shop in Kassiopi for beautiful table cloths and Tavernaki is lovely for dinner. (Book before you go if though as they are usually fully booked for walk ins)

@TwinklyMoose that sounds like bliss!

It really is. The kids love it just as much as teens as they did when tiny! Airport only an hour away too.
