Me, 46, grumpy, tired. Likes: culture, being warm, peace, little cafes, walking, off the beaten track. Dislikes: crowds, all-day-breakfast type of places, resorts, everyone being English, tourist traps
DH, 47, grumpy, tired: Likes: not having to drive anywhere, having a quiet beer, tasty food. Dislikes: tourist traps, other people
DD, 6: Likes: swimming, exploring. Dislikes: 'forced fun' (holiday clubs etc)

We would like a direct, low cost flight (3.5 hours max); a place to find an AirBnB or similar (self catering not hotel); with a pool - guarenteed sun.

Budget is an issue - looking for somwhere pretty cheap on the ground.

Last year we went to Marrakesh and had a great time. Looking for something else this year.

I'm going round in circles looking at Morocco, Montenegro, Greexe, Turkey. Can anyone help?!

If you are considering Turkey then Kas fits your description. It's beautiful, not touristy, gorgeous scenery, great food, clear clear water. It's idyllic

Soller. North west Mallorca. Everything you’ve asked for. Perfection

I’m surprised to see 3 posts suggesting Sóller. Does it not get very busy with queues of people waiting for the Palma train, and the tram to the port? I would have thought there were heaps of tourists there every day. Or is it that it gets quiet in the evening after the day trippers have gone, or away from the main square ?

Portocolom is where a lot of Majorcans go for a weekend away. The bay is so beautiful. From the west side it looks like a Swiss lake, as it's actually quite hard to see where the sea comes in.

Kalami in North East of Corfu is lovely. A beautiful bay and a few tavernas plus a small
Supermarket. Taxi boats can take you to neighbouring bays ( usually to specific restaurants ) Boat hire available.

Kassiopi in Corfu is a larger town with a harbour , busier than Kalami with a good choice of restaurants and a larger supermarkets and boutique shops but still quite sedate. A good place if you don't want to drive anywhere as there is enough to keep you interested.

San Stefanos also in Corfu on North West of ithe island . Huge sandy beach and a strip of tavernas and shops. I went for a week and didn't need to drive anywhere else as it had all I needed for a relaxing break.

I've been to these places in May half term, beginning of July, mid August and never found it too busy.

Skala in Kefalonia. Nice trips to Fiskardo, island of Ithaca.
