Flyaway kids bed and Virgin Atlantic

Does anyone have recent experience of taking a Flyaway bed on Virgin? The website says they are permitted but I’m nervous after reading threads on here about cabin crew in various airlines being difficult.

And are they generally worth it? We have a night flight and a difficult toddler so I’d like to maximise the chance of getting them to sleep and generally cooperate.

Contact virgin and get it in writing?

We flew Virgin Atlantic in November and used a Flyaway kids bed in both directions. There were no comments from the cabin crew. I’d printed off a page from the VA website that expressly states they’re allowed just in case we were challenged but I didn’t need it.

Be aware this cannot be used if the child is in an aisle seat (middle and window seats are fine). It must be stowed away for taxi, takeoff and landing, and during turbulence

Thanks all. I’ll print out the webpage if we decide to get one. We have lot of seats booked across the party so will be able to put him in a suitable one.

cabin crew here. Just make sure you pick one that’s definitely allowed. The crew are not being grumpy. We have licenses and if we allow a non-approved unsafe device we will lose our licenses and job.
stick to the rules to the letter & remember they have to come down and child put back on seat with belt securely fastened during turbulence, take off and landing
