Enough time for layover in brussels

Hello.
I am looking at a cheap flight from London to Munich in may on a Saturday morning. The most reasonable flight I can see leaves Heathrow and then has a 45 min layover in brussels before going onwards to Munich. Is this enough time to change planes? I would only have carry on and the flight is advertised on their website so assume it would be possible otherwise they wouldn't offer it as a route?
Has anyone got any experience of this route/airport and can let me know if it's a possibility. Other flights either get into Munich much later that day or are at least twice the price. Tia

Just to add...both legs of the journey are on a Brussels airline plane and it's offered on their website as a complete journey i.e I haven't looked two separate searches.

Here is the airport information page: https://www.brusselsairport.be/en/passengers/your-travel-planner/connections

Under "Your transfer in a nutshell" you will see that you don't have to go through security again (Non-Schengen to Schengen, but read on for the security exception for the UK and some other countries). However, you will have to go through passport control.

Under "How much transfer time do I need?" it says 50 minutes. However, that's one blanket number and presumably also applies to people who would have to go through security again.

If it's one booking code then in principle if you miss the connection they will probably rebook you at no charge (although that might be too late). I say "probably" because while they will definitely do that if the first flight is late, if it isn't then they might say "Well, you obviously dawdled", or perhaps "You should have checked the airport website before booking, look, it says 50 minutes minimum". At which point you say to them "Well if you knew that why did you sell me a 45-minute transfer on one booking code" and hilarity will ensue all round.

it’s too short a layover. Would suggest you pay a bit more and fly direct there and back. Think easyJet also fly to Munich.

They're selling it as a connecting flight which should mean its doable most of the time.

I've been through Brussels and remember having to run a long way between gates sadly past all the chocolate shops I didn't have time to look at but can't remember the airline or details.

However you need to decide how inconvenient the consequences would be if you missed your second flight, eg if your first flight was delayed. Brussels Airlines will put you on the next flight to Munich for free - when is it?

You could also Google the reliability and landing time stats for your first flight. If you find that 99% of the time it lands 10 minutes early it starts to look a lot better. Its also likely they'll let passengers with short connections off first if it looks like they need more time.

I would probably take the flight and hope for the best unless the stats look bad and the next connection isn't until the next day.

There is also a Lufthansa flight with a layover in Frankfurt for 1hr10....I've never been to Frankfurt airport . Is that a more realistic time window? Direct flights on a Saturday morning are coming in at £300-400 as opposed to £200 with a connection

It's a risk but it is possible. Will you be flying from the same terminal, that is crucial.
Having no luggage helps.
We had a layover of two hours in Amsterdam Schiphol airport, connecting flight was late and we had to run from one end of the airport to the other. We made the flight. I was assured my luggage for a very special holiday would be on board.
It wasn't 😮

If you've been looking at flights to Frankfurt (and that airport is huge in comparison to Brussels) you may as well fly to Munich instead particularly as this is your intended destination. For a short haul flight from LHR to Munich it is really not worth connecting through another airport in order to arrive there even though it's cheaper. Presumably you would have the same routing on return making your return flight even longer.

Most places like museums and larger shops and stores in Germany on Saturdays do not open until 10.00am.

Far too short - if you had to walk from one end of Gate B to far end of Gate A (worst case scenario) it's a bloody long way. And as mentioned by pp - passport control can have long queues for non-EU. The flight is normally closed about 20 - 30 mins before planned take off.
