Stop sterilising for 11 month old abroad?

I am travelling abroad with my little one for the first time for a week in Europe.
On our return, it will only be a week away from her first birthday.
is it worth transitioning her over to cows milk a few weeks earlier so that we don’t need to sterilise etc when we are away? (Was planning to stop at 1).

would save taking quite a few things away I.e sterilising equipment, formula, flasks etc - but just interested to know others thoughts.

Have you checked that fresh full fat milk is available where you’re going? It’s not as readily available in some countries as it is here.

I would take bottles just in case she is reluctant to drink cows milk or water but wouldn’t worry about sterilising, just wash well, if you’re in Europe should be fine to wash with hot tap water and a bit of Fairy liquid (I take some in a little travel shampo bottle).

How many bottles does she take a day & how long are you away for? I will take 2 x 6 packs of ready to feed formula and a couple of bottles just in case my 13mo doesn’t eat / drink properly on hols rather than faffing about with powder and finding hot water etc.

One word of warning - milk taste different in most countries. Lots of European countries moved to "longer lasting" milk which is heated at a higher temperature and on island like the Canaries or Baleraric you will mostly find UHT.

We went to Majorca just before DD turned 2 and she refused all milk, not a big issue at that age but for a baby I wouldn't risk it.

We used steriliser bag for a microwave to make the bottles when we formular fed DD, she was cup feeding from 6 months, bottle refuser, so she drunk from a cup we only washed with the normal washing up.

@reluctantbrit thanks for the info! I’ll pack formula just incase but not worry too much about sterilising if we can run it through the dishwasher
