Combe Martin - suggestions on what to do with rubbish weather forecast

Me, DH and our 4DC (7 and under) are due to go away this Saturday for a week staying in Combe Martin. After checking the weather forecast this evening it's not looking too promising at all, so some of the ideas we had will likely be off. I'm just wondering if any of you have some suggestions. Happy to travel, ideally no more than 30/45 minutes away. TIA.

I remember taking ours to The Big Sheep and The Milky Way when they were little, from memory they both had indoor play areas. Might be a bit of a drive but there’s not a lot of attractions to choose from in North Devon.

Oh there’s Quince Honey Farm too

Watermouth Castle on just out of Combe Martin has a house part to explore, and when I was last there, they'd give you free entry on another day if it rained too much to make good use of the gardens with the rides.

The carriage museum at Arlington Court (NT) near Barnstaple is open, as well as the shop and tea-room. Garden, of course, but weather might not cooperate.

The beach at Woolacombe is a brilliant open space and you can walk miles. I'd take wet weather gear and wellies - a long bracing walk will help tire kids out. And Saunton Sands a bit further south is similar. DH has got relatives in Combe Martin but there's not a lot to do there in truth..... especially in early season.

Visit Lynton and Lynmouth and ride the Lynton & Lynmouth cliff railway.

Quince honey farm! The talks and demos are all inside buildings (with clever inward facing bay windows so you can get up close to hives and bees without worry)

our young kids loved it, seeing beekeeper demos, watching honey getting processed in the factory, rolling candles, high fiving stick insects! There’s also a big indoor soft play and a lovely restaurant

Exmoor zoo.

Combe Martin Dinosaur & Wildlife Park - has some indoor bits including soft play.
Exmoor Zoo
Quince Honey Farm
The Big Sheep
Watermouth Castle
The Milky Way
Exmoor Pony Centre
Dunster Castle
West Somerset Railway
Doniford Farm Park
Tropiquaria
World of Wonder soft play at Atlantic Village
Arlington Court
Clovelley
North Devon Wake Park
Ilfracombe Aquarium
Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway
Wimbleball Lake
RHS Rosemoor
Plus the beaches

Alot of these have indoor attractions, or could be sheltered from inclement weather as they’re in valleys etc. Or just embrace it - take/hire wetsuits & go in the sea; or puddle suits etc & enjoy the scenery. It’s likely there will be breaks in any rain & its still just an estimate of what might happen.
