Couples Mallorca - 3 nights beach and foodie break

Hello,
DH and I have a 3 night / 4 days break in early July with flights to Palma. First time away without children in 8 years so feeling the pressure to choose wisely!

I’m stuck on hotels so any advice welcome.

Looking for somewhere we can walk to for meals out - ideally local cuisine. Not a brits abroad type place. Beachfront would be preferred but not essential.

The Iberostar Llaut Palma (adults only) and the Iberostar Playa de Palma both look good as close to the airport and city if we fancied a jaunt.

I also like the look of the Hoposa hotels in Pollentia, which obviously would be a further transfer (50 mins?).

Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thank you

Porto Pollenca is lovely - long promenade lined with restaurants and you can get a bus into Pollenca town which is beautiful too.

Jumeirah Mallorca isn’t too far from Palma and is within walking distance of two stunning restaurants (NENI and Nautilus).

I can’t sorry - we just visited there during the day when we had a villa elsewhere. Just check out trip advisor and I’m sure you’ll find something suitable

We stayed in Cala d’or last year and were very impressed by the food there. Best steak I’ve ever had! Beaches are coves though so not really beach front, though lots of places to eat around the marina.

Don't worry too much about transfer time. Majorca is beautiful and the view out of the taxi (or minibus) window makes the time pass quickly. And the longest drive you can take from the airport is an hour.

I would not recommend the Playa de Palma area for couples looking for a "less-touristy" time. Despite the name it's not really part of Palma - it's a purpose-built fly-and-flop/lie-and-fry resort area.

Puerto Pollensa is quieter, as is Puerto Soller. However, it it's for only 3 nights and you don't need after-dinner nightlife then I would suggest Sant Elm, which is small and gorgeous. Guaranteed no football shirts or Full English Breakfast. Get the boat ride to Dragonera one day, it's an amazing place.

In Puerto Pollensa look at the Hotel Pollentia - adults only, or their sister hotel a few doors along Hotel Uyal You wouldn’t be disappointed with either

Soller is perfect we went for 3 days in September. It’s lovely to potter round, lovely restaurants, get the little team down to the port for the beach and more restaurants and take the old wooden train to Palma for the day. We stayed at the Ca’l Bisbe which was a great location and nice pool, room not especially inspiring but was fine.

I can definitely recommend the Hoposa Pollentia. I had the cheapest room so it was quite small and no balcony so just check the room before booking (I didn’t). The restaurant there was excellent. I’d also recommend Loqueria restaurant in the town.

Thank you so much everyone for your feedback.

I couldn’t get a guaranteed sea view with balcony at the hotel Pollentia, so I’ve gone for another hoposa instead - the illa d’or. The area looks gorgeous, we can’t wait to go!

thanks again

I'm jealous. That is one of the prettiest and best situated hotels in Majorca. I haven't been inside the rooms, but we've had coffee on the terrace a couple of times.

If you want to have lunch like a local, go here on a weekday https://maps.app.goo.gl/s4jXNM5CTZXi222p6, go inside, and order the menu del dia. It comes with red wine, lemonade, and water. Mix the red wine with the lemonade. If you finish it, they will bring you more. Do not plan to do anything else for the rest of the day (the food will immobilise you if the drink doesn't).
