Hi, we’re heading to Berlin for 3 nights in May (DH, me, DC14, DC10). I already have some ideas including: Reichstag dome climb and tour, Brandenburg gate, Checkpoint Charlie & Eastside gallery - may consider walking tour re; Cold War +/- DDR museum etc; holocaust memorial, zoo, Schloss Charlottensburg or Potsdam, interspersed with beer garden, currywurst, coffee + cake, lounging in park (weather permitting).
Any other suggestions for must-see’s, great cafes/restaurants etc? Can be as random as you like… Thanks

DH took DD when she was a teen. She found the history interesting but I think one of the hight points was eating at Rausch (they did bring me back some chocolates).

Thanks for tips re; timings etc.
I know what you mean about the zoo but I thought it might be a bit of light relief for the 10yr old…plus I think they have panda cubs at the moment.

Very envious, we took my DDs when they were 14 and 11 and they loved Berlin, ranks as one of the places they'd love to go back to. Lots of art and history which we enjoyed but we also went to the zoo to see the pandas. I know people say that you can go to a zoo anywhere but we often visit a zoo on a trip away and have always enjoyed them as it's a change of pace on a city holiday. And the pandas were fabulous. The zoo also had a farm area which was a big hit as you could go in with the goats; we had a very amusing time there as you could buy food pellets for the goats and feed them (machine took coins at that point) and both DD were like the Pied Piper with a train of goats following them.
