All inclusive resorts that are good for SEN children?

Hi, we're finally taking the plunge and going on a holiday abroad next year, my eldest will be 6 at the time and is currently non-verbal, still in nappies and he's diagnosed autistic.

We've been looking at Magic Natura but I'm seeing mixed reviews online and it's very expensive so I'm not sure whether its worth the risk.

Has anyone travelled to any other all inclusive resorts (preferably like Spain, Turkey, Greece, Portugal) with an autistic child and has any recommendations?

Also any tips for travelling, when we did butlins last year we too the beego windo and door locks as he's a little houdini when it comes to escaping, so im also a bit nervous about balconies? Can you request to be on the ground floor at all?

woudl you consider self catering, a villa perhaps? The thing with all inclusive is they can be busy as everyone stays on site to make the most of the food and drinks. My Daughter struggled with how busy the pool was for us last year.

We would be going during term time rather than peak time to avoid the major rush, hes okay with busy places so I do think during term time he'll cope

I found holiday village to be good during term time - good food varieties, decent prices. Seperate room for child if required, water sites on the site which helps if they enjoy water sensory stuff and tend to be on a beach

what things are essential for you in terms of their needs?

Sorry the locks on the doors were high also which was essential for my child - but you can ask to be ground floor if needed I am sure

I’d really avoid any holiday villages. They have good splash pools. However it’s party city depends what your child likes - in your room you can still hear music pumping / walls shaking until 11 pm. The dining rooms can only be described as crazy and rammed so close together. It’s quite noisy and crazy.

My non ASD children thought it’s a blast at that age especially the Rhodes one is the best one and Ibiza being the worst but for an ASD child is can be difficult in HV if food / noise sensitive / like calm environments defo not like that it’s the opposite
