Rome with a 7 year old

Taking our 7 year old DD to Rome for the first time soon. We have been several times so our focus is on introducing our DD to Rome - definitely a bit of history and maybe a bit of art. (Her interest wanes in galleries though!)

Has anyone ever done a children’s tour in Rome? I think guides are an excellent way to bring things to life, but looked online and there is an overwhelming number of companies to choose from! Any recommendations please?

I haven’t used a guide tbh. I’m sure it could be great if you get the right guide, someone who is really good at engaging kids, but never had the confidence we would!

What I did instead is download the Rick Steves app which has some pretty child friendly descriptions of eg the Colosseum - I read those out to my kids while we were there. Just as a suggestion in case you decide against a guide.

we went to the Welcome to Rome experience - was really interesting and showed how Rome grew and then collasped with holograms and models etc.

The gladiator school is a slow burn, ut my kids enjoyed it

Thanks to everyone for ideas so far. However I am still keen to use a guide if anyone can recommend one/a company that does good tours for children. Partly because I know my 7 year old will definitely listen to a guide more than she will to me or DH trying to read things out!
