Newquay in April

I'm hoping to go to Newquay for a couple of nights towards the end of April.

Is there anything I should definitely be doing I.e best restaurant, nicest beach, something to do indoors if the weather is bad?

Oh and what will the weather be like? I'm not expecting 30 degrees, but is it likely to be dry?

Thank you!

There is literally no knowing whether it's going to be 22 degrees and glorious sunshine, or a howling gale and sideways rain. Easter is unpredictable everywhere, but especially in Cornwall!

Beach wise...Porth is nice. Do you like walking? The coast path north is stunning, taking you past Mawgan Porth and Bedruthan Steps (which you can't officially get down to any more). There are regular buses up and down this part of the coast. Or to the south you have Crantock, Porth Joke (keep an eye out for seals!) and then Holywell Bay with its dunes.

Is there any reason you've chosen Newquay, particularly? There are definitely nicer places in Cornwall!

Are you visiting as adults or with children also?

Weather will be hard to predict, may be dry but also there is quite a chance it will be wet as cornwall is known for its rain.

Recommendations for restaurants/indoor activities will be largely based on who they are for- do say if there are children coming with you or not.

The weather could be anything from snow to 25’ in the sun

Oh crikey! Errrm just two adults and I picked Newquay because we’re flying down there, so the airport is fairly near. I’m embarrassed to say that I thought Newquay was in Cornwall 😂

Newquay is in Cornwall!

It's the UK so expect UK changeable weather. Could be snow could be nice and warm....or anything in between.

It's not the nicest town we have but it's sorta central. It's got a train station so you can travel out and about although I think its a branch line. There are local train rover tickets.

Do you have an age related free bus pass?

If we can find out how you plan to be travelling around thatime might be easier to advise places to visit. There's a reason why everyone in Cornwall drives!

For eating out I use TripAdvisor for recent reviews pretty much everywhere I go.

I'm flying to Newquay in April too but we're staying in Padstow for 4 nights. We were there once years ago and have always wanted to go back.

Looking forward to any recommendations too!

DB lives there & his favourite beach is Fistral. A lot of surfing goes on there! There’s a great cafe called Seaspray.

Take gloves and a hat, waterproof, shorts and sunglasses. Newquay weather is a law unto itself.

Camel Estuary! Can hire cycles along it, although it gets busy.

They call Padstow Padstein as Rick Stein has so many restaurants there. Again, I'd read TA for recommendations.

What time is your flight public transport to Newquay from the airport is a bus every one to two hours and takes half an hour.

Emily Scott at Watergate Bay is nice.
