Travelling from Paris CDG airport

Can anyone help please? Travelling from CDG airport to Meudon on the outskirts of Paris. Is taking the train the best option and can we buy tickets for entire journey at the airport? Thanks so much xx

Look it up on Rome to Rio, or have a look at a RATP- Transilien network map. For the centre of Paris from CDG the RER suburban trains are the best bet, but I'm not familiar with Meudon. If you're planning on travelling around the Paris area at all, probably best to buy a Passe Navigo (like a Parisian Oyster card- I am sure they will sell these in the RER ticket hall).

For travelling in Paris you can buy tickets electronically on the “ Bonjour RATP” app. If you want a physical navigo card, go prepared with passport sized photos of the people using them. I was in Paris last week and just used the app.

if you download it, you can put in start and end destinations and it’ll show you time, disruptions and fee. For example, Orly to one of the meudon stations was the standard €13 fare for airport to destination on the Rer.

download the citymapper app if you haven’t already got it.

please be careful with your phones on the trains, particularly having them out near the doors at stations.

Have a great stay.

I actually had 5 minutes yesterday while the pasta cooked, so I looked it up for you. RER is indeed the best choice- it takes about an hour and 10 minutes, and you have to change at St Michel- Notre Dame, probably one of the most perfectly situated stations ever, if you feel like sticking your head above ground for a quick look at Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter.

You don't need a passport photo for the standard Navigo Easy tickets that get issued to anyone buying a standard ticket. Photos are needed for season tickets or the Navigo Liberty Plus card.
