Can anyone recommend nice hotels for a couple’s weekend break in Budapest?

Hi @Nettyhugs
DH & I are currently planning a trip to Budapest for this December. Can I ask were you happy with your hotel. There's so much choice on booking.com! There's lots of great suggestions for things to do & see on this thread but if you have anything else you enjoyed or recommend I would love to hear it. Thank you.

We stayed at the hotel collect, a really nice boutique hotel, excellent location for walking or metro. We went in February and it was toasty warm inside but the building is full of character, it's not expensive either. We stayed in one of the suites overlooking the park (not the penthouse), it was spacious, comfortable and really clean

We stayed at The Corinthian and it was incredible!!! Old style glamour, access to the spa if you book direct and good location. I would recommend it without hesitation.

@Winterblusse, I also really recommend The Corinthia Hotel. Stayed there last week, it’s fantastic. Great rooms and communal areas and if you can afford an Executive room you get access to the Executive Lounge where you get free snacks, cheeses, meats, pastries, soft drinks and alcohol as well as free spa access. Nice and central for all the main things to do.

If you don’t choose this hotel make sure you stay east of the river in ‘Pest’ which is where all the main attractions are: districts V, VI, VII, or VIII. The tram system is cheap and easy. Download the BudapestGo app to buy advance tickets. Make sure you visit Central Market Hall.
