Greece - HELP?!

Where do I start?

Friends recommended Greece but where do I even start? Crete, Heraklion, Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos. My head spins.

Can anyone tell me where to holiday in May/June please?

2 adults.
5* and on the fancier end I.e super clean, jazz music rather than the thumping music you get at some hotels, nice rooms, etc. I think we are looking for the complete zen chill out vibe.
Adults only isn’t necessary but some of the fancier hotels we have looked at are adult only (essentially not bothered either way),
Half board with nice restaurants within walking distance or a really really good AI. Food is probably no.1!
Budget £2k
5 days in May/ June

Have a look at the Mitsis selection hotels in Kos. Absolutely gorgeous & their AI includes 10 different restaurants with somer al a carte over looking the sea!

Another suggestion for Mykonos, my absolute favourite and a bit of paradise. Ostraco Suites are stunning, amazing breakfast included in the price too :-)

All inclusive*

Ahhh, thanks! 😄

Just realised you were talking about All Inclusive in your post….
And wanted to add to the other people - do not! One if the main draws of food in Greece is the nice tavernas where you can get great and fairly priced food.

If you do like AI - you’ll be better off in Turkey. In May/June it’ll be warmer, scenery will be similar and AI options are plenty

I mentioned all inclusive purely because the hotels I have been looking at have all been quite remote. It’s very annoying! I don’t want to have to get a taxi every time we eat 😂

Im currently looking at hotels in Elounda which seems better 🤞🏻

Go Ikos for really good AI. Two in mainland Greece near Halkidiki, two on Corfu and one on Kos.

GreekGoddess90 · 11/03/2025 14:14

Has anyone been to Cayo exclusive resort and spa,(Elounda)?

If you are going to Crete I would recommend taking an organised tour to walk the Samaria Gorge - we absolutely loved it!

The problem with 5 star adult only is it attracts the influencers who need to be photographed around the pool , pouting in tiny bikinis . They do not take well to overweight women in their fifties sitting on the sunbed next them 🤣

That sounds like hell! 😂 I do not need anyone getting my muffin top in the background of their photos!

(That was supposed to be a response to your comment that Santorini doesn't seem popular as you thought - quote somehow got lost)

Well it won't be this year!!! That said there will be dozens of bargains - my friend (manages groups of hotels) says that they are giving away exclusive hotels because they need the bookings to be healthier. You might well find deals that you could never afford any other year.

What do you mean “it won’t be this year”?
