Fuerteventura in Feb

Hi all

Hoping for some tips. Have got some BA vouchers to use next Feb half term and not fancying long haul. There are flights available to Fuerteventura. I've never been to Canary islands.

I'm not a traditional all inclusive type holidayer. Usually stay in Air BnBs or more upmarket hotels depending on location.

We would be looking at 5 days so would probably be pretty happy finding somewhere with sunshine, nice pool(s), good food, nice beach and maybe a few bits for the kids (aged 2, 5 and 7) to do.

Is Fuerteventura a good spot for this? Any hotel/resort recommendations? We are not interested in fighting for a spot by the pool or on the beach, and we aren't big drinkers so not keen on somewhere with an all-day boozing vibe.

Thanks!

We went to caleta de fuste which I wouldn’t recommend. It’s a bit Brits abroad and man made.

we hired a car to correlejo and I’d stay there. The sand dunes are worth seeing and very easy to put in 5 days there. I’d try and stay near to the livvo hotel in the centre as the outskirts weren’t as nice looking.

Cold and very windy

The weather isn't reliable this time of year. It can get up to 22 degrees and sunny/cloudy but can equally be 16/17 degrees. Fuerteventura is very windy which means the temperature can feel lower. Personally, I prefer Lanzarote and would always look for a place with a heated pool. There are some nice boutique hotels or privately rented villas on all of the Canarian islands.

If you want a warmer place then consider Morocco or Egypt.

Egypt can also be very variable. The pools are generally unheated but the sea is warm.

Can be windy which in February can feel chilly. Correlejo is lovely though.
I've been to Gran Canaria in February and stayed in the south of the island (mogan) and it's been beautiful.

Tenerife or Gran Canaria will be a lot warmer/less windy.

We went to Fuerteventura in Feb half term this year. The weather was beautiful. We went to Morro Jable which was beautiful

I was there a couple of weeks ago. It's lovely. Weather was just about warm enough, depending on your preferences. Not baking but warm enough for shorts and t shirt during the day, with a light jumper in evening. We swam in the sea- it was freely feeling for the first minute, then refreshing..... there is a fair breeze - but I like that personally. Assuming you are in Corralejo, It's a beautiful chilled out place. Beaches fairly small and busy, but not madness... loads of cafes and restaurants looking out at the sea. I didn't notice all day boozing. Felt more family orientated.

For me, who doesn't like to be sweltering, it was a perfect warm, fresh break with beach, swimming, nice fresh seafood - very relaxing. And there are tons of Airbnb options, if you book well in advance.
