Agadir recommendations

Hi there. I’m heading to Agadir in April with my two children (one a teenager and one who is 10). Can anyone recommend any places to visit whilst we are there or things to do that children of this age would enjoy? Is Paradise valley worth the trip? I’ve read mixed reviews online. Also any recommendations for places to eat in Agadir particularly that serve authentic tagine? Finally what’s the pool and sea temperature likely to be like? Where we’re staying the pool is heated until March so I’m wondering if wetsuit tops might be needed. Thanks.

Is anyone able to give any recommendations? I’ve asked similar questions when planning other holidays and MN has always come up trumps so I was hoping so this time too. TIA.

We are going in May and have booked a small place in Mirleft. Didn’t fancy staying in Agadir itself and some of the surf resorts to the north supposedly have sewage problems.

We are booked for October so have very similar questions! I'm hoping the pool is heated, the hotel's website says it should be but a couple of trip advisor ratings say it hasn't when they have been.
I wanted to go to Paradise Valley but a friend said she was disappointed with it.
Sorry not much help but I'm piggybacking this thread for the advice :-)

We stayed slightly outside of Agadir over New Year. Our hotel was adults only (Pickalbatros White Beach) but it was on a great stretch of beach with a great promenade running along to the village of Taghazout.

It had a number of hotels along that stretch including the Fairmont, Hyatt Regency, Radisson, Riu Palace - it was a really nice area.

@BG2015 Did you visit anywhere else in easy reach of Agadir or in Agadir that you’d recommend?

My daughter got back today! She really enjoyed sand surfing (not sure where but it was great fun) and surfing in the sea at Taghazout. She loved the vibe in Taghazout. She wasn’t a massive fan of Agadir but that’s partly because it rained most of the week! 😱

Oh and my daughter really recommends VANISCA restaurant. They ate there three or four times, it was so good!

@SmashingGemini Thanks so much for the restaurant recommendation! I’d heard Taghazout is pretty laid back so hopefully we’ll be able to get a bus up the coast to there. Sand surfing sounds interesting!

We went to Taroudent (sp ?) which is a walled city, really interesting. Pretty certain we visited a local village to see Berber life, was a touristy trip on a coach iirc.

We enjoyed Crocoparc and the escape room that is there. Though suggest getting your hotel to phone in advance and check the escape room is on if you fancy doing it, on the day you want to go as we had to return and pay again to do it. It was very good though and the guide spoke perfect English. Quad biking is great. We did go to Paradise Valley this trip. We enjoyed it and the teens and I enjoyed jumping in to the crystal clear water - the water was COLD though. 2nd jump was warmer! Was quite a long day though as we were picked up first in Agadir and dropped last. We also took a taxi to the Souk and again teens had fun bargaining. Enjoy!

We went to Agadir last March. It was pretty crap. Reminded us of a Spanish resort from the 1970s.

There's a huge souk there, and a cable car up to the top of the mountain where old Agadir used to be before the earthquake, but there's not much to see tbh.

Huge beach, but the tide goes very far out.

@Eastmeetswest1 Thanks so much. Do you recall how long it took you to get to paradise valley from Agadir? Did you go via public transport or on an excursion?

@BG2015im going in a couple of weeks. Any tips for the hotel please?

BG2015 · 18/01/2026 09:08

@TwoHoots74take a fleece or warm cardigan for early mornings/evenings as it was quite chilly. Absolutely loads of sunbeds so no mad rush in a morning, unless you want a sunbed right at the front facing the beach.

Great promenade straight out of the back of the hotel, turn right towards Taghazout.

Taxi from reception is easy to sort. We liked the hotel. The weather over New Year was ok, we did have a couple of cloudy days but it was December/January.

TwoHoots74 · 18/01/2026 10:25

Thanks @BG2015. I was hoping to lie in the sun and recharge but it doesn’t look that hot. I foolishly thought oh it’ll be hot in Morocco in Feb!
was the food on the hotel ok?

BG2015 · 18/01/2026 10:46

Yeah I think Egypt or Cape Verde are the best places for winter sun.

When the sun was out it was very warm and we sunbathed from about 10am to about 4/5pm. We thought the food was good. There's an Italian side and the normal buffet side plus you can book the speciality Moroccan restaurant which I didn't love but DP did.

There was a roller skating waiter that took drinks orders round the pool, which was fun!

Let me know how you get on.

Sorry, just seen your message. We went on an excursion. We were picked up first and dropped off last on an excursion which really did lengthen the day. It is only about and hour to Paradise Valley if you went straight there (if that). On the excursion we did the Taghazout pick ups and then the minibus headed towards Paradise Valley with the first stop at an Argon collective. Interesting but expensive to buy anything! Though perhaps that is me! Had toilets there. We then headed into the hills - stopping at a viewpoint for photos and then another stop and a tiny shop in case anyone wanted to buy a drink. Finally headed into Paradise Valley and walked in to where we got to jump into the water. On the return journey we went straight back to Taghazout without stopping. If we go again (and we would), I'm now more inclined to just walk out of the hotel and bargain with a taxi driver for where you want to go. We paid a taxi driver to take us to the Crocoparc and he said he would wait. We told him we were doing the Escape Room as well as the Crocoparc (he didn't know it was there) but waited the c 3 hours for us. We told him he didn't need to as there were taxi's parked up outside. Must have been worth his while! We had asked at our hotel reception what we should expect to pay for the journey and stuck with that when we went out to the taxi rank.

Eastmeetswest1 · 18/01/2026 14:06

We have been the last 2 February's and it was hot enough to sit out at the pool. The first year, the hotel had a heated pool and last year it didn't so in future I would book a hotel with at least 1 heated pool. We also loved the quad biking. Did an excursion both times. Food was amazing..

Jumping into this ad looking to go in October. Any adult only hotel recommendations would be appreciated.
