Eurocamp

Hello! Me, my husband and 2 children (age 5 and 6) are planning a European trip for 6 weeks starting this September. We want to use Eurocamp as our main accommodation throughout, starting in France and on to Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Has anyone done this before? Trying to work out best route/campsites and possibly add more countries. We are using Eurostar and train line to travel…..unless anyone has a better suggestion.
This is my first post on mumsnet! I look forward to hearing your suggestions 🤞x

Is there a reason why you want to use Eurocamp and not book directly through a campsite? From previous experience, by mid September some of the facilities will have closed for the season by then e.g. campsite buses, kids clubs etc.
Are you camping or looking to stay in a static caravan?
You can filter the Eurocamp website to those accessible by train.

The only site we have been to without a car is Marina de Venezia, but we flew and used public transport to get to the site. We hired bikes when we were there to get around.
We usually do multi-site holidays when we go away, but it is more expensive. We could make it cheaper by taking our own towels and bedding, but as you will want to pack light this might not be an option for you.

We’ve done several campsites without a car. In Switzerland, Camping Manor Farm is great because each guest gets a free bus/boat ticket included in your stay and the bus stop is right outside the site. The buses or boat take you to Interlaken which has a well-connected train station. We actually hired bikes and cycled into Interlaken a few times - a lovely flat cycle ride along the lakeside path. The campsite is open all year round.

We've only gone by car but the Eurocamp site at Interlaken in Switzerland is lovely. Switzerland has a superb public transport system which is very easy to navigate too.

Thanks everyone. Didn’t know you could book direct over Eurocamp. We were planning on using eurocamp as want to travel for as long as possible without blowing the budget and also having swimming pools/entertainment for the kids on days we are not out exploring/sightseeing. Has anyone stayed at Domaine des ormes Brittany? Is the public transport good to local beaches, Mont Saint Michael? X
