Holiday Recommendations for Family of 4 (2 young children)

I'm a teacher looking to book a holiday for this year but I'm struggling to find something that feels worth the money. We've done all-inclusives for the past two years, but the prices seem astronomical this year.

We're a family of four - DH and our two little ones (nearly 3 and 13 months). We're open to various types of holidays, but ideally would like to spend around £2,000 for 1-2 weeks.

I've taken a quick look at Eurocamp, but the prices are coming out at around £5,000 for 2 weeks!

Can anyone recommend any other options? We're looking for something that's suitable for young children and offers good value for money.

All suggestions welcome!

Thanks!

Have a look at Camping Cote Lac. It’s a small campsite but so child friendly, with a little petting farm, heated outdoor pool, lakeside beach, play area, bouncy castle… In the high season, there’s a spa onsite too!

If you're willing to do 1 week only, would you consider shoulder season? October half term in particular is likely to have something available AI for 2 kids in budget. May half term is also cheaper than summer, but you might've left it a bit late for this year.

You are going to really struggle in that budget for two weeks. Even a week in summer tbh.

What are your October half term dates this year OP? It's worth considering.

If it's the earlier week, you're in luck. I put 18th to 25th Oct any airport into Easyjet, and for your family size there were dozens of options south of 2k. It's more restricted if you'd have to go 25th October to 1st Nov, but there were still a few.

The weather is more of a risk in Europe in October, no way around that, but with the budget and timeframe you've got, there'll have to be some compromises.

We did Beekse Bergen Eurocamp in the Netherlands at Easter. We found it was cheapish as the Dutch school holidays were different from the UK. Huge amounts of included activities on site (swimming, animal safaris, fair rides, lake peddle boats etc.) and I think it was about £800 for the self catering chalet for the week. We took the car over on the ferry, was pretty reasonable to do. Went over to Efteling theme park a couple of days as its very close. Weather wise we had a couple of rain days a couple of pleasant sunny spring type days as you might expect. Kids had an incredible time, we did about 10 days as a family of 4 all in food activities petrol travel etc for your £2k budget.
