Flying from London City, how big is the fluids bag able to be?

I ask this because we normally fly from Gatwick and Ive always been able to put my liquids in a see through make up bag, never been asked to decant into a set size see through bag provided by the airport and Ive been able to put through what I like. (its fairly big and not even that see through)

Got a massive shock last time we flew as we were at Stanstead because I was forced to put my things in a very very small bag, only one, not allowed to use a bigger sandwich bag that I had and this meant I had to dump a load of products and they cost me a fortune. Loads of people also caught out and having to throw away their things.

What are the rules at London City does anyone know?

It's probably best to assume it's the same as Stansted. I am a frequent flyer and it's often the small bags. Sometimes you can get lucky but it's not worth risking expensive products.

Im pretty sure City have the new fancy scanners that mean you don’t have to take your liquids out of your bag at all. Though they do still have to be max 100ml as I recall

The rule is the same everywhere: 1 x 1L plastic bag that needs to be able to close.

I agree that Stansted is particularly rigorous on this rule but if you don’t want to risk losing products then I’d abide by this. Depending on how long you are going, decanting into the smallest travel bottles you can find will help a lot. I have some small 10ml tubes that work great for 2/3 hair washes.

It's a 20x20cm clear resealable bag that's usual for airports.

I flew in/out of LCY on Thursday and they have the new scanners so you don't need to remove liquids or electronics for security - they did ask me if my water bottle was empty though

Well thats interesting because when I was at Rome, I couldnt find a couple of things which had fallen out in the cabin bag and put the bag through and they then said 'oh no you dont need to get it out'

It took me about half hour rumminging around in the case to try to get the rest out and I didnt even need to!

I dont take anything more than 100ml

I also have a lot of liquid medications

I had no idea, Ive always used Gatwick since the liquid thing came in and Ive never used the standard bags, I thought they were being given out as a curtesy. I use an old opaque M+S make up bag (green if you're interested).

The reason I dont like my things going in the main case is that sods law they would come lose or squirt all over my clothes and shoes.

I have small minis and bottles I decant with but it doesnt fit in a bag that small.

This says no bag is required but containers still need to be 100ml or less
