Hi,

We are going to the French riveria at the end of August going to do Euro camp.

thought it would be could to do a eurocamp on the way and way back for 3 x days to break up the journey. Struggling to pick which ones without going miles out of the way. Can anyone help? Recommend what they have done?

Thanks x

Which way are you travelling? We did South of France for years from Brussels (so sort of equidistant as coming from Calais) and normally stopped overnight en route just North of Lyon - so Beaune, Macon, Dijon etc. Or coming the other way at Rouen. Troyes and Orleans are other places we stopped. All of above - just off the motorway. Not sure Eurocamp is the most economical stop over for 1 night stops, especially in August. We normally did Novotel or Ibis - family rooms if needed - generally with pool, secure parking, free food for kids. Favourite stopovers were Novotel at Macon Nord (lovely wine, nice pool) or Sources des Fees - a B&B nor far from there with a set dinner and wine tasting. Novotel at Dijon Sud was least favourite - last time we stopped there I found my review from the previous time that I seem to have erased from my memory. Mainly as food was shite.

That’s really helpful thanks. We are coming from Calais. Hotel with pool would make the kids very happy! I’ll have a look at your recommendations!

Novotels' nearly always have a pool. If you look at Accor Hotels website, you can see hotels along the route. We also stayed a couple of years ago at the Ibis Styles in Chalons Sur Saone, which had a family room with 2 bedrooms and a pool. Big shopping centre across the road with McDonalds and supermarket.
