Disneyland Paris- what time should we eat?

Just that really when should we eat to maximise our time at the park?
Booked for end of Feb with 2 DC aged 10 & 13. 2 days one night.
Staying in Paris beforehand so will be travelling to the park morning of day 1 then have a late flight day 2 (10 pm so I guess will need to leave 7pm at the latest).
We're having breakfast at the hotel morning of day 2 so planning on making the most of this!
So probably need lunch or dinner both days but one meal could be snacks that we bring with us.
What time should we eat so that we're eating when ride queues are longest and we're not missing parades etc. Is around 3/4pm sensible?
Also any tips on where to eat? Thinking of booking one sit down place then doing fast food the rest of the time.

Feb this year? Are you trying to book table service meals? You might be limited to what timeslots are still available. In my experience, there isn't any real significant drop-off in queue times at lunch or dinner, so we just eat when people are hungry and when I it also fits around show/parade times. The mousehunting website guy though swears by an early lunch. We go for quick service food, never dined at a table service place yet. I believe Disney Stars on Parade is on at 5:30pm right now, so 3/4pm works with that, but it's half way between lunch and dinner and quite late to keep everyone waiting for food.

This is not what you asked, but you do know you can access the park at 8:30am for magic hours even on Day 1 of your tickets. I would absolutely be doing that, you can get loads done in that hour when the park is quietest. However you'd have to get-up crazy early to travel from Paris to get there on time.

Remember that Paris is 1hr ahead, so take that into considerable when planning meal times. Our last visit we tried to have breakfast before magic hour and really struggled to eat much. For our next trip we plan to do magic hour first then go back to the hotel for breakfast for about 10am ish. So maybe something to consider considering your kids are older.

Download the Disneyland Paris app to check out the restaurant options and quick serve places.

When we went, it was quietest from magic hour until about 10.30 and then it got quieter again from about 5.30 til it closed. Anytime between about 11 am and 5 pm, queues were huge so eat any time then! We found 8-9pm the best time. Was literally walk on at that point - quieter than magic hour.

Good tip about magic hour no I didn't realise we got that on both days! Will take us about an hour from our hotel in Paris so might just be worth getting up and going early.

I was looking at booking restaurants yes, there are some times available but I think we'd need to book asap. Now thinking it might just be easier and cheaper to go to the fast food places as and when we're hungry

Ooh yes I hadn't thought about going back to the hotel after magic hour, that could work.
How easy is it to travel between the parks and hotels? Staying at Hotel Cheyenne

Thanks! I'm thinking save the more child friendly rides until later on when people with younger children have left

When we went during Feb half term we did magic hours in the park then ate breakfast there around 10 I think, taking some sandwich bags to make up ham and cheese rolls, grab a yoghurt and some fruit each and then had other snacks we brought with us alongside some flasks of hot drinks.

We ate lunch watching the Cars show / Stunt show or in the queue for a longer queued ride (nothing too fast to upset stomachs etc).

Dinner we had as character meals. We didn't queue for any photos with characters as saw them at meal time. The Buffalo Bill show was great. But you've left it a bit late to book those things.

We ate lunch at the Mickey Cafe on our last day which was nice and possibly the nicest meal.

Feb was a good time to go for us as the park opening hours are shorter and DD was younger. But don't forget the shows and fireworks if planning a later meal time

I think it's about a 20 min walk away. I think breakfast is until 11am so could work. Double check that time tho!

TeamGeriatric · 03/02/2025 22:20

To be honest last time we went we spent about an hour at 9pm, just trying to purchase food and eat at McDonalds, I don't think a sit down restaurant would have taken much longer! The main park shut at 10:30pm that day, so it wasn't even a post-fireworks mad rush for food. Some of the quick service places inside the park shut earlier than others, check times so you can plan accordingly. If we went again I'd be tempted to try a proper restaurant, some of them get good reports.

HamandCheeseSandwich · 03/02/2025 22:24

We just go for things like McDonald's or the earl of sandwich.

It's obviously a few years since you were last there. The Cars stunt show is no longer running, the Buffalo Bill show isn't running either and Café Mickey is closed.

@snoopyfanaccountant yes, but presumably something equivalent is in their place that the OP could go to.

Cafe Mickey has been replaced by Rosalie but it doesn't have characters and neither of the shows has been replaced.
