I’ve booked a holiday to Bulgaria this year for me and my 3 and nearly 2 year old , at the time I was excited and as it’s slowly sunk in I’m now worrying about our safety, logistics of flying ect . Has anyone else ever travelled alone with young children and have any tips ?

I've flown solo with a 3 yo and 1yo then again when they were 4yo and 2.5yo.
First time I had youngest in a cabin baggage size buggy. That was brilliant because I could use it coming off the plane and navigating the arrival airport. The second time I didn't take a buggy but they both had Trunki cases. Parents either love or hate these. I love ours and keeps the kids entertained in the airport.
I played airports with the kids before we went and watched some videos on YouTube so they knew what would happen at each stage. I think that helped going through security and passport control.
You might need a letter from their dad to say that you have permission to take them out of the country. They will ask you about this at passport control.
Take lots of snacks.
Think about what you will do to take kids to the toilet on the plane. Cabin crew will be helpful to watch one of them. Other passengers have always been good with my kids too.
Try relax and enjoy it.

I have. Feed them before you get on the plane and have spare snacks, milk etc. I was on a flight with a medical emergency which meant journey lasted longer than planned and meant nothing was served until 4 hours in.
Have some new toys you can produce part way through when you need to.
Have calpol sachets in hand luggage and give them before descent starts.
You’ll be fine!

Thankyou! Most people I have asked have told me all the negatives and tried talking me out of it , I’m glad to hear that other people have managed too , I’m planning to take a pram for the youngest and hoping my 3 year old will be co operative throughout the airport , I have considered a double pram but not sure if it’d be a waste and not really needed
