Morocco in ramadan

Hi, has anyone been to Morocco in ramadan? I'm wanting to go away for a babymoon and there is a huge price difference if we go 24th February and ramadan starts on 28th roughly. We'll be there for a week only. I won't be fasting because of meds I need to take but I'm asking more about atmosphere and if everything is closed etc. Its marrakech. Thankyou x

Holiday places don't close during Ramadan, I've been many times but it does feel awkward when locals aren't allowed to eat.

Yes. Many years ago went during Ramadan. Was quiet in day but was July so locals were probably exhausted as very hot. The place came alive at night! Huge contrast. We had a great time, just be respectful about eating and drinking in front of others - though no one expected us to fast.

Yes, last year.
Menus were limited and we could only buy wine or beer, no spirits. But other than that, it was fine.

Yes, I went to Fes years ago in Ramadan. If it was quieter than normal in the medina I dread to think what it's like normally! We elected to observe the fast with the locals (except we drank water), and the atmosphere in the cafes and that first bowl of harira when the sun set was amazing. I don't recall anything being closed- I do remember having a couple of encounters with snappy, grumpy locals- don't know if they were hangry, apparently people from Fez have that reputation anyway!! I can't imagine you having any problems in Marrakesh.
