Hi, thinking of a 3 night city break for me and dh, no kids. Can anyone who has been recommended hotels, things to do etc?

Not totally set on the city, so any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks x

It's a lovely City for a short break. Lots to see.

Can't help with the hotel, we had a little air b'n'b

The Sagrada Familia is a must see. (Guadi's stunning Cathedral) and it is worth paying for a tour - both for the extra information you will glean, but also the timed ticket entry.

We went on an open topped tour bus, which was really good as you could get on and off as much as you liked, and it took you round so many places you could visit. The buses came regularly, so it wasn't like you had to choose 5 places and spend an hour in each - you could just get on the next bus 10mins later.

Lots will go to the football ground - it isn't much from the outside but tours there are popular.

The beach is nice, if you want to rest for a couple of hours.

Loads of beautiful buildings / architecture if you just want to walk around.

I am from Barcelona. March and April are the best months to visit the city.
St Jordi (Catalan for St George) on the 23rd of April is a vibrant celebration of love and culture, with streets filled with roses, books, and festive energy.

We went in April. Recommend booking attractions ahead if you can. Beach is nice. We went to Montserrat by train for a day and it was really good, much better to use local services than expensive organised tours.

We went in march and it was lovely..stayed in a hilton hotel on a deal and it was very nice. We hired electric bikes one day and rode for miles along the beach which ds especially loved as well as the aquarium. It was a wonderful weekend and grwt with children.

You didn't mention a budget. Antiga Casa Buenavista is a really lovely hotel.

Try to go for at least four nights. Three will be tight in terms of seeing much - there’s a lot to see. It depends on your interests but Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell and other Gaudi sites are wonderful. Also take the cable car to Mount Tibidado for great views of the city. Wander round the old city for nice little shops. There are plenty of nice restaurants and tapas bars everywhere - avoid those on las Ramblas except for bars in La Boquera market (also another must visit.
We’ve stayed in many hotels - favourite was the Hotel Pulitzer on Placa Catalunya (was a few years ago so don’t know what it’s like now).

The Sagrada Familia and La Boquera market are a must see and try the potato bravas!

Cervecería Catalana
Sorry I don't know how to link but if you search for the restaurant above it makes amazing tapas, you can't reserve a table, you turn up and they put your name down say how long they think it will be for a table and you pop back. We ended up eating there every night last time we went!
